I just watched another channel where the creator said the Advanblack was flimsy and he’s having all kinds of problems with paint chipping. Update us after your trip.

In my latest experience advanblack has poor customer service, Don't think I would buy anything from them.

I brought Advan king tour pack, once you first get it yes there is not much difference in look. But after only having it for eight months I had to replace it with a Harley King Tour pack. The Hinges on the Advan started to fall apart and the fiberglass is not good quality. So if you’re looking for it to last long-term the Harley is the better way to go. If you are looking to save money and don’t care about long-term or quality then get Advan.

I have advan lowers and center piece over my gas tank and quality wise they are decent and have had them for over a year and bout 5000miles on them, can’t say anything about the tour pack hence why I’m watching this lol

Mounting rack was from amazon. I bought a full set from Harley and it completely eliminated the issue.

Honda's and Yamaha's look just like Harley's, too, but their still just Honda's and Yamaha's.

Just curious what point you are making? Harley's are supposed to be "American Made" but at the end of the day, its a bunch of Chinese parts shipped to America and assembled. Pretty much everything outside of the motor and frame anyways.

99% sure Avanblack is not an U.S. company. All my Avanblack products came from Hong Kong. Just because they have an office in the U.S. does not make them a U.S. company. Many if not most Harley Davidson owners prefer American made products, and more and more foreign companies are trying to appear to be an American company to get fool Amercans, to get their business.

They don't claim to be an American company. They tell you the products are shipped from overseas. That's a big part of why they are cheaper. Even the Harley motorcycle manufacturer has plenty of parts from China and overseas. All we're saying is that it can be a cheaper alternative to buying from Harley (which most likely gets its parts for the tour pak from China anyways, puts their HD logo on the tether and charges $400 more)

Free Thinker, where have you been? Harley Davidson is assembled in the US with parts made in China, Mexico and Japan. IE: order some brake pads from HD for a touring model, made in Japan right on the box, the same box that says Harley Davidson.

Don't kid yourself about Harley being American made. I own 2 harleys and I love them but they are not American Made. They are an American company assembling bikes here with a lot of the parts coming from out of the States!

I had many HD. In the old days, most of the parts came from the US. Now, some parts are made outside the US. However, HD parts are the best quality out there. Despite being manufactured outside the US.

Great comparison...a little tip on the tour pack rack from amazon...the reason it moves and is sloppy is that front "c" clip is too small..all the knock offs from ebay and amazon are like that. Go to HD and get the Tour Pack Bracket Repair Kit and ask for just the 2 C clips...its 6 bucks...now it doesn't rattle around and you still saved well over 100 bucks.

Steven Housden we went on a 300 mile run a couple weeks ago. I ended up dropping the $300 on the Harley hardware but there is no movement now. I feel a ton more confident riding around with a $1000 tour pak now with the true Harley stuff.

Steven Housden thanks for the tip. I replaced the two front plastic bushings on my aftermarket rack with the Harley bushing now all movement is gone!
