At about 4:00 in the video, there is a crew of 8 that passes a powerboat in this film... anyone know if that 8 is the gold-medal-winning USA team, or one of the other countries?

Loved the scenes around Mildura in 1965, loved the old Riverboats, all those kids are probably Grandparents now? And you know what I loved best of all, no one is glued to a mobile phone! Happy Days!

Interestinng to see some of mildura 1 yr before i was born.... Not into the regatta boats but bringing back good memories of the old mildura bridge, rio vista and the pump and roller across the road that as kids we used to play on quite often before h&s made it disappear.... Anymore footage of this period would be great to see!

It is a wonderful movie covering activities of and exchange between the Melbourne University Boat Club and the Keio University Boat Club in 1956, 1969 and 2014. Certainly this is a great gift to our Melbourne-kai members who will be thrilled to watch it. Thank you very much. i love these old movies/videos. the wooden boats and oars are beautiful, its sad in a way that wood has been replaced by high tech materials. the piantedosi oars i had in the 80's were works of art. the same can't be said for anything made of carbon fiber in my opinion. .there's just no life, character, or individuality in manufactured materials.

check out how the oars flex! great photography, especially considering the camera equipment available back then.

wooden boats and oars seem to have life. a characteristic modern high tech boats will never have in spite of their light weight and other advantages

yes i know that and also the brit 4 also had a bad lane but my comment still stands they are the best technicial lightweight 4 i have ever seen and their gold medal the previous year was a credit to them, and i believe is the correct way that all rowers should aspire to

I thought this was technically the best lightweigh 4 i have ever seen bar none its a pity london was such a tossup withthe lanes
