He was a power ranger. He loved that franchise and kept involved in it til his death even went as far as helping to produce a comic book series. I think listening to some of his interviews after the 2017 movie came out, it sounded like the fact he wasn't cast as one of the power rangers but only cast as a cameo broke his heart and knowing that a green ranger was going to be cast for a sequel that wasnt him helped, on top of possibly other difficulties, lead to his suicide. Little did he know that a new special called Once and Always was being planned for 2023. If he was still with us, he diffinately would have been on board to join it.

I met JDF at a con a few years ago with Johnny Yong Bosch. Both of them signed my original Megazord and VHS copy of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers movie. JDF was the guy, my guy, being Green Ranger, White Ranger, Red Zeo, Red Turbo, and I was aware of him coming back for Dino Thunder. He was an amazing man, and extremely kind. RIP Ranger.

You know that there was at least some passion when, on top of the original movie theme playing when the Zords are revealed, they actually bring in original actors in a way that seems like a call back (the coffee shop scene looked like a date, and their characters, Tommy and Kimberly, dated on screen
