It sounds like they added a 64 Reed in the pedal. Am I hearing that right.

I used to sing the first verse of this Hymn daily in infant C of E school at age 4. Now in 82nd year!

And it certainly laid the foundation of our lives at that school. I have played the organ in Churches of various denominations, and currently still play once a month on a roster at a very well attended Church, Penang Wesley.

Without any doubt, your performance of this marvelous work is the best that I have heard. The Toccata's registration that you chose has me wondering where this has been all of my life. I began organ with the late Dr. Richard M. Peek at The Covenant Presbyterian Church in Charlotte, North Carolina. We students practiced in the chapel on a 19th century Johnson and Son Organ. Once and only once Dr. Peek allowed me to play the Aeolian Skinner Organ in the sanctuary, The Beast In The Loft. Richest Blessings.

Dude, it was my late mother's favorite hymn. I played it for her Recessional, but you nailed the last verse with the melody in the left hand.

A small group, including me, is singing this in maybe July. This video was a great help. Beautiful singing. The alto part isn't prominent in the one part I'm having trouble with 😂

Love this and also David's Processional in G is a fantastic piece and not too difficult to play. A mighty organ is essential though!

Wonderful to be here in 2024 and report that the massive Ruffatti pipe organ at Coral Ridge Presbyterian is 100% fully restored and ready for another fifty years of Christian service.

Wow! I will never be convinced that the young people of today are so intrinsically shallow that their deep desire is to walk away from the challenge and the obvious reward of this kind of POWERFUL singing of the hymnbook hymns. There has to be some really effective marketing going on, aimed at them, and aimed at the Pastors who make these decisions. I see them as victims of ploys, gimmicks and fads... advertising by a group of Marketers, used to manipulate skittish Pastors into setting up "tables" for the Christian Entertainment Industry right in the middle of what used to be a Worship Service. One day, someone will wake up, realize what they have done, and return to the Father's House in proper humility, asking to be made a servant instead of demanding that 1,700 years worth of hymns be scrapped so they could be entertained.
