This was before Beech went full blown corrupt. He took the occasional backhander but it was only when he crossed the line by lying in court that he had fully crossed to the other side.

Noel was quite a git to Dale in these clips I thought. Cutting him off dismissively when introducing the clips, and then being horrified at the thought of Dale hugging him in the showroom. Homophobia was still quite rampant and normalised back then but it's still horrible to watch. However as others have said, Dale was shown in a fantastic light.

easy to say when watching it but these pranks all seem to be around the most stupid people in most stupid situations you'd highly know is a wind up . I must assume Les Dennis's Gotcha was after Lionel Blair's as he was involved in that one

He was truly a genuinely nice guy...met him with my kids in Hampstead..the kids were being kids and he was being funny and kind to themabsolute gem of a human being.....may he rest in peace ..it was our honour to have met him.
