Some tools have pre-requisites. If you are trying to restore a car to the level that you want a Planishing Hammer, you should have an air compressor. If you don't have one you will NOT be able to use so many tools that would make the job easier. So no I don't include the cost of an air compressor in the price every single air tool I'm going to show you, that is just a silly point to make. A ratchet requires a socket set to work. Does that mean I should include a socket set in the purchase price when I review a ratchet? A cordless drill without drill bits isn't much use, etc etc etc.

Sadly I don't have any upcoming videos here. Sooner or later I'll make more, but I cannot afford to do so for now. However I make almost weekly KZfaq videos still (and have for years now) on my 2 other channels. Mostly focused around 3d Printing and "Making" things with 3D printing (including parts for the 65 GMC). MandicReally (new Main Channel): kzfaq.info Mandic Labs (streaming / technical channel): www.youtube.com/@MandicLabs

Most petg glass transitiom rate is closer to 69c and up to 74c on paper. Other videos have shown clearly that petg on a dashboard can soften around 156f. Which is easy to reach in the summer in the north east USA.

Agreed where you're going to use filler definitely butt weld, but no pun intended when your fabricating anything under like wheel wells or trunk area and like package tray areas definitely this is the way to go with a flange. It serves the purpose to make it stronger one reason and you can always go back in there behind it with a rust preventative easy peasy

Ptfe AN lines work, you can buy proper AC ends for them (o ring seal, not 37 degree) with service ports and everything. Easy to assemble with hand tools.

So can I use ac fitting with an braided hose
@HotRodHippie
@HotRodHippie 2 ай бұрын
No. Regular Braided Hose is NOT rated to retain freon. It will leech out through the rubber and dissipate into the atmosphere. You'll both have a non-functional AC system after a period of time and be harming the environment in the process. AC Hoses have specific materials in their construction that are there just to contain the freon, along with others to hold against pressure. Also some Braided Hoses are rated for the pressure AC system can hit, but rarely are they rated for such high sustained pressures. Regular braided hose shouldn't be used on AC or High Pressure Applications like Power Steering or Brake systems. Dedicated hoses are required.

I watched your review. I think you could do some more research in order to better inform your viewers. are the hammers cast iron?, cast steel?, Forged? steel billet? Are they heat treated? How hard are they? (rockwell scale?)
@HotRodHippie
@HotRodHippie 2 ай бұрын
Reasonable, I took for granted folks already know body hammers, which is not a given. The VAST majority of body hammers are cast steel that is machine & hand finished, then heat treated. Rockwell hardness scale is a poor test of a body hammer oddly enough though. I've only tested a few hammers as Rockwell testers are expensive and I had to contract someone else to test them for me. In that testing I actually found that Harbor Freight hammers were the "hardest" hammers I had, BUT in actual use they wore the worst and showed signs of damage much faster than others. So unless you are sacrificing multiple sets of hammers to test a larger sample size and/or cutting them up and testing how deep the heat treat goes, it really is only a vanity metric. And at that point you are talking about spending thousands just to test a set of body hammers. It is excellent information to have, but real world use is the only reasonable way to test in my opinion.
