Stick around, fellas. Looks like Greg and TD are testing the Weapon X 2 right now. Hopefully Gait gets their head on the market. Shiny things are coming. We got the Recovery early on. Too weak for ground ball battles. Too hard to string a pocket that’s useful for passing and shooting without balls getting stuck in the back. We had better overall success facing with… a Gait D2GB than Recovery. For various reasons and added abilities.

Choosing this over an OG CEO makes me want to hit that buy now button!💰
@Gklplus25 күн бұрын
Although it pains me to say it, I do have to give the Burn FO Recovery a slight edge over the OG CEO. Now, if the OG CEO was still being produced and easily available for purchase, then I think the OG would be ever so slightly above the Recovery. But the fact that the Recovery holds its shape tremendously well, has a very smooth-feeling plastic, is easily available, and is a good substitute for the OG CEO, I am using it over OG CEO. It’s almost fair to say that Nike should’ve kept the OG CEO as it was and maybe it would’ve been a popular head being used today.

The red and green combo is gross to some and others seem to really like it haha. The shaft we used is the Savage X Titanium 7 attack/midfield lacrosse shaft. We bought it because they’re only $25 and so far we’ve been super impressed with it. Definitely isn’t fancy with cool designs, but we prefer blank shafts anyway. A little on the heavy side but not enough to have a noticeable impact on your performance. Highly recommend it, for $25 it’s definitely worth a shot!

Thoughts on siss using the Og duel. Is that still a good option?
@Gklplus28 күн бұрын
Great question. I personally believe that whatever head you used the longest and most comfortable with is always going to be a “good option”. Watching Siss over the years, he started with the duel, played around with the Burn Fo and Mark 2F, and then went back to the duel. I don’t want to speak for him, but I would assume that with the amount of time he spent training with the og duel, especially at a younger age while he was developing his personal style and techniques, it was hard for him to feel that level of comfort that he feels with the og duel with the other heads on the market. I would love to make a video covering this topic because it’s very interesting in today’s world of faceoffs

@Gklplus28 күн бұрын
Tricky question and we plan on doing a video on this topic. Short answer, whichever head you are the most comfortable with is going to be the best option for you. Comfortability comes with time spent taking reps. Also, you can’t go wrong with the popular options that the college guys are currently using (Mark 2F, Warrior Burn FO)

What shaft did you get for this head because I got a Nike shaft and it doesn’t fit
@Gklplus28 күн бұрын
Try sticking the bottom portion of the head in a pot of boiling water for a couple of minutes. The 2F’s tend to be a little tricky to put on any shaft that isn’t made by stringking. Fill the pot of water up enough so where just below the ball stop is submerged. Leave it in there for a couple of minutes, pull it out of the water and immediately try to work it onto the shaft. It should be easier to try and put on. If not, put the 2F back in the water for a few more minutes and try again. Once you manage to get the head on, let the head cool down before you use it

blake im struggling w counters, what do you recommend when you fail the clamp/plunger?
@GklplusАй бұрын
Great question. Might do a video on how to counter, but for now I can provide some simple solutions. 1. Work on your clamp. If your clamp is dialed in, you don't have to counter often. All of the top faceoff guys in the world didn't become the best by solely countering. If you can beat your opponent with your clamp, you will put yourself in the driver seat and take control of the X. How do you improve your clamp? Short answer, reps. Reacting to a randomized cadence on a consistent basis will improve your reaction time, thus helping your clamp. Record yourself or work with a coach to make sure that the reps you are doing are as efficient and consistent as possible. How do you track your progress? Our app is a great tool that allows you to capture and track your reaction time as you train. Don't put in the time and effort this summer to get better without tracking your progress along the way. 2. Practice your shovel. There's going to be a time where your clamp just isn't cutting it. Whether your reaction time is slower than your opponent, or you're just having a bad day at the X. You need to have a counter that you are comfortable with to use when needed. If you've watched any of the D1 college lacrosse games this year, the number one most used counter is the shovel. Your reaction time is no longer a factor when using the shovel, you wait for your opponent to react and then you make your counter. The shovel is a very good counter for multiple reasons, which I can explain in a video. 3. Change things up. The hardest thing as faceoff guy to do is to beat an opponent that isn't predictable. An opponent who can not only clamp well, but can also comfortably throw multiple counters, is very difficult to beat. If you're having to counter because your opponent is beating you to the whistle, be ready to mix up your counters. Although the shovel is a great counter, you can't use it for every faceoff left in the game. You need to change it up, keep your opponent thinking about what counter/move you're going to use next. Clamp, swipe, shovel. Just like rock paper scissors. This forces your opponent to think, thus hesitate. Keep him guessing, slow him down, fight hard for possession. Like I said I can do a video on counters, but I hope this helps for now!

I think the reason the CEO isn’t as popular with SNG is because it’s just quicker that knee down, less power involved. The ceo needs to be almost 90 degrees to pinch around the ball. Oblique flexing heads don’t have to go all the way down to get enough to pull it out. The time it takes to fully rip the left hand to your armpit takes to long now with how many quick counters there are. If you watch D1 it’s so much harder to win clean. You can win the clamp clean but most guys recognize that they’ve lost the clamp and go for a shovel or reverse shovel. Plus the burn and burn recovery have a better bottom sidewall for rakes and reverse clamps while absorbing the pressure off your opponent like the CEO did
@Gklplus2 ай бұрын
Lots of great points here! Greatest takeaway here is there are better options for helping lower the effectiveness of opponent counters than the CEO. Seems like a lot of guys believe this to be the case, hence the reason my the CEO lost its popularity over the years once SNG came into the picture. A deeper look into the rise and fall of the CEO would be a great topic to discuss in a separate video. For the sake of this video, we wanted to compare the CEO 3 to its previous version and we plan on covering how the CEO 3 stacks up against other popular heads in shorter, Go-Pro based videos.

@ntstick062 ай бұрын
I dont think the CEO(3) is a good SNG head. I mainly see guys using the Mark 2F and a few Warrior Burn Recoveries out there. The tie ups dont happen like in knee down anymore, once you throw your left hand and legs back you are getting shovled and are on your face. Once the CEO kniks you have to throw your hand too much and are open for the rake or shovel. We had a kid try to use one this season and he would constantly get countered or leave the ball behind.
@Laxreviews2 ай бұрын
You nailed it. Face flexing takes to long now unless you’re a freak like mullaney from cuse
@Gklplus2 ай бұрын
Couldn't agree with you more. Countering is at an all time high and counters have always been the CEO's kryptonite. For the sake of this video we wanted to see how the CEO 3 compared to the CEO 2, and the CEO 3 definitely had an advantage over the CEO 2 when it came to preventing the rake or shovel. Sure there are "better" options out there for faceoff guys with the SNG rule, which we plan on covering in other videos, but this was geared towards existing CEO users who wanted to see if the CEO 3 was going to be a valid option for them.

@Gklplus2 ай бұрын
It's a shame to see the OG CEO leave the faceoff world! Has he tried the Warrior Burn FO? Seems to be a good replacement for the OG CEO because of its greater flexibility compared to the Nike CEO 2 and 3. We're about to start working on a Burn FO Recovery video as well, from what we've heard its a much softer version of the original Burn FO. Both seem to be great options for younger players who are wanting to stick with face-flexing heads.
