It is ridiculous that it's just flippant and subjective.

This is very random in 2024 but I’m trying to track down two of the stickers from this set featured in the video, and cannot seem to find them anywhere. Are they still around or possibly available? Thanks, Josh

It always makes me laugh as a fountain pen user when the authenticators claim to be able to know the material the nib was made from. And more likely it was a gold nib given the line variation. They made gold nibs in varying degrees of flexibility, with some nibs advertised as highly flexible for Pittman shorthand and others as "manifold" for writing firmly on carbon copy paper. And steel nibs of the time were often thin enough to offer a bit of flexibility, with a select few such as in the early Montblanc pens easily being as flexible as some gold nibs. The long and short of it being that you can't tell the material just by looking at the writing.

PSA and CGC-Make sure to check for the hologram or lighthouse label, shine a UV light, and compare it to the pictures in our card database to make sure it's authentic. BGS-You gotta know what you're looking for among our different slab variations. Buy with your credit card to charge back, be careful if deal is too good, blah blah

0:23 Darn I cringed so hard when the ruler is scooted around the card. It must've gotten some scratches on the surface from doing that.

I don't get the whole "Gypsy Rose Lee", slow reveal, especially for a bunch of commons to be revealed. I guess that everything has to be overly dramatic these days. I hope that he didn't pay a lot for that pack. With only 5 cards in a pack, you've got to be extremely lucky to get 1 decent card. Then too, how can one be certain that that pack hadn't been already ripped & any worthwhile card pulled & the pack resealed?

The wrapper is worth $40-$50 . That's so the buyer can repack 5 commons and sell it for $500 .

I can remember when I bought the 1963 cards which came to the five and dime store where I lived they were in cellophane packs at one store. I could walk across the street to another different five and dime and the '63 packs were in the wax pack as shown in the video. I remember in two packs I got in the wax pack Clete Boyer and Joe Pepitone were in those. Funny how you remember those things but I was a Yankee fan. Once I got a Yogi Berra in one cellophane pack, Sandy Koufax in another one, and Hank Aaron in another one. I never did get A Mickey Mantle that year. I did find one in a baseball card shop for about $15.00 in the late eighties. I still have all those cards. I am gratefulĺ that I do.

Judging by the state of the gum in the pack tells me that thus pack is a fake!!!! That gum seems like it didn't have much damage because usually the gum over time will seep through the cards because of its age!!!

The really odd part about this is those drawings aren't at all from the 1966 cartoon. Those designs were specifically created for marketing/advertising for the 2000 film…

Wouldn’t it help to measure against the original printing plate specs. I mean if your going to grade placement and offset… Maybe should know info like offsets plate changes otherwise your evaluations are against what? Conjecture/perception…. This is super messy.. really just a nerd racket..

Did anyone think to wear gloves? You know for the oils and lingering abrasives on your hands.
@whatevername6553
@whatevername6553 2 ай бұрын
wearing gloves can be worse in some cases since they dont know how much pressure they're putting on the card, and if you wash your hands before touching this stuff you won't get oil or fingerprint transfer

If you mean callipers, metal callipers could nick or scratch cards, photographic measuring machines are costly and a transparent clear ruler will be accurate enough, deducting on centring to microscopic imperfections is the grading equivalent of semantics. it's going to slow down the grading process and realistically it won't matter that much
