I remember attending this game with my cousins. We walked to the stadium, it was a wet and cold night but we were very excited to finally watch the Mexican team in our city (they usually played in Mexico City or in the US) and a top international team. We were seated in the general admission section of the stadium (from the camera pov on the top right corner).So we got to see the three goals of Yugoslavia. When Yugoslavia scored the third goal we all stood up to clap. Needless to say we booed the Mexican team to the locker room in the halftime. Then, on the second half, it was even wetter, colder and the Mexican team was sucking even harder. So in order to get warm and not get depressed our section put the Mexican flags down, stood up and jumped chanting “Yugoslavia! Yugoslavia!” And just cheering them. When Yugoslavia scored the fourth goal we just went freaking bananas, the goalkeeper started cheering us up. We didn’t stopped jumping and chanting for the rest of the game and at the end the team gathered in front of our section and clapped. It was a great experience, little that we knew we just cheered a country that was about to disappear.
