@@BobsUtopia That would be nice, but I keep seeing videos saying you need a "niche" to be successful. I certainly haven't come up with one yet anyway. I want to just make videos for myself for fun. I don't have cool places to walk like Kaohsiung and I certainly don't want to just sit in front of a computer. I do have some ideas for some some initial videos.

I wonder if you could find the Japanese P.O.W. camp site from WWII. I believe it was near Kaohsiung and that is the harbor where the P.O.W.'s were unloaded (and bombed accidentally on their trip from the Philippines). I'm pretty sure that General Wainwright was kept at this Taiwan camp for at least part of his imprisonment. It would make a great video to find the site today, even if all the buildings are gone. And, as well, to interview any Taiwanese in that area who was alive at the time (as a child) and remembers it.

Great video, as always. Full of wonderful insights. Indeed, one of greatest things about KZfaq videos is the interaction between content creators and content viewers. Sometimes content viewers are not just passive viewers because they also contribute their content (comments) to a video. I feel KZfaq videos won’t be complete without the audience and these interactive elements. And it’s always a rewarding experience when people learn something new or interesting from each other. By the way, I always enjoy watching longer and insightful KZfaq videos like yours. It seems to me that shorter (actually, very short) videos are the latest trend, and nowadays people’s attention spans are too short for longer videos. Similarly, some people argue that albums are now an obsolete concept in music because of all these streaming services that allow people to listen to shuffled tracks, create custom playlists, and play recommended songs. Nevertheless, I believe albums and longer videos still have their places because they allow content creators to develop their ideas and tell their stories more fully. In my opinion, each episode of yours is like a musical album that consists of many short tracks. These tracks are all great on their own, but they are even better when viewed as a whole. Thank you for sharing this great video. I look forward to seeing more from you.

Such a great video! You can clearly see European influences everywhere in Quebec City. Compared with Montreal, Quebec City seems like its quaint and old-fashioned cousin, but in a good way. Quebec City looks hilly but still walkable. I suppose it can be a great place for those who enjoy hiking while staying in the city. And who wouldn’t enjoy a walk in this city? Both its architecture and landscape are magnificent. You have a talent for storytelling. Maybe you should have considered a career in tourism. 😊 You would be a great tour guide. I can listen to your talk all day. And your photography skills are getting better and better. I wonder if you will pass through Montreal and Ottawa when you are en route back to Waterloo. Both cities are also breathtakingly beautiful. Thank you again for this wonderful video. I look forward to the next one.

Wonderful video full of great insights, as always. Yes, it’s easy to tell you’re retired. Not because you look older. On the contrary, it’s because you look rejuvenated and more relaxed. It must have been a long time since the last time you wore a suit. I think retirement is about one’s state of mind rather than physical or financial status. It’s about a shift in your outlook on life and purpose. Retirement is not just an endpoint of career but a transition into a new phase of life. And you look ready for your next chapter. My favorite lines from this video: “I wonder how many things in life I’ve forgotten.” “I wonder how many things I’ve lost and never found again” “I wonder how many things I’ve lost and not even realized I’ve lost them” These can be lyrics of a great song. 😊 By the way, are these beautiful shots all from Waterloo or some are from Kitchener? I guess most of them are from Waterloo because it looks a little physically demanding to walk from Waterloo to Kitchener with a camera and then walk back. Thank you for this wonderful video. I look forward to the next one.

Wonderful video. I love your montage and your “vignette” style. But this video seems more like a greatest hits album for this channel. It showcases and exemplifies your narrative style. If I need to recommend your channel to a friend, this would probably be a great and classic stating point. Speaking of a greatest hits album, you do look like a retired rock star living in Taiwan as your second home. But it doesn’t mean you’re past your prime. On the contrary, I feel you’re in the prime of your life because you can now go where your heart takes you. That’s probably why you look more relaxed and feel more inspired when hiking or biking. May I add two more rules for the monkey mountain? Rule 1: Don’t eat while hiking in the monkey mountain. Food is the most coveted target of monkeys. Years ago, a friend of mine brought a rice ball for breakfast. Just after his first bite, he got robbed when walking past a group of monkeys sitting on the handrail. Monkeys are very agile. Rule 2: Don’t go off the beaten track when hiking. And I mean it literally. Although the monkey mountain seems very safe, it has some dangerous areas that have no road signs, where people can get lost easily. That being said, with some caution, it’s still a very fun place to go. By the way, you’d look great for a smoothie commercial. 😊 Your satisfied face is worth a thousand words. Thank you for this great video.
