Point for point it's still the best hotel deal in California quite possibly the United States. Balcony with water view! Where else you gonna get that for 12000 points a night?

I myself have been there and the rooms are so beautiful and the view is nice and the pools are just so much fun and the poles aren’t deep so if you don’t know how to swim then it’s Perfect for you

We always stay next door every year we visit. I think 2024 we are going to stay here. We got a tour and it looks amazing.

What's the parking situation for the hotel

We stayed over the Memorial Day weekend. The resort is beautiful, and the amenities are excellent. One couldn't find a better location on Shelter Island in San Diego to stay. One of our hosts, Erik, was a representative any organization would seek to employ, fun and informative conversation. The downsides were the restaurant. The facility was filthy, the service was poor, and the quality of food was disappointing. That, and the surcharge for food service, $30 a pop for good scotch, and a $40 a day resort charge that are part of the state of CA, visiting a state driven by taxation in every form.

Was there 4 weeks ago. I want to go back so badly.

Stayed there in January. Very nice place to stay.

Would you say this is the nicest BEACHFRONT hotel in the area? My family and I want to be steps away from a beach for a Spring Break vacation, and saw this was indeed that. Thanks in advance for your reply!

Who is that incredibly tall and sexy surfer in the first scene?

My parents used to take us ( my siblings and I ) to San Diego for the annual family get away vacation every summer in the 80's. In 1988 my parent's elected to try this place and man I enjoyed it as a ten year old. Great atmosphere! I saw Die Hard at a theater nearby. We went back to this hotel twice in the 90's. The second stay was in 1994. I was 16. I remember the baseball strike - I watched the last game from the room on ESPN. My spirits were really down but I traversed the confines of the hotel environment and it's just a nice comforting place. I am looking for Mrs. Right. Hopefully she comes my way and I most certainly will take her here!

You missed the one places that was there before everything else 72 years ago and Little Italy was built around it ?

As a young Marine still in SOI 3 or 4 of us found this hotel. The guy that found it came from a rich family. When he showed us and tried to convince us to stay there we thought he was crazy. But we went in and got a real good rate. Especially when split a few ways. Naturally they stuck us in the older rooms away from civilized patrons! But they treated us well. Now that I'm a few decades older I don't condone this, but we would let so and so know where we were. We'll so and so had 2 or 3 buddies with them. Then so and so let his buddies know where it was happening at! By the time morning came around and all the Marines were passed out I swear we'd have 2 dozen bodies laying all over the room. When you got up to pee it'd be like playing twister just to get to the bathroom! But the hotel done us right and when check out came you'd never know 20 plus wild Marines were ever there.
