Unfortunately the designers for the replacement bridge didn't check with the US Coast Guard. When the design was complete and project was about ready to go to the voters for approval the Coast Guard said "nope." You didn't design it with enough clearance for ships to pass underneath.

What this video is trying to convey, is, that in arizona, we started to build our freeways in like the 90s ( and stilll going btw). Where other now heavily populated states had their freeways built well before they got heavily populated. Regardless traffic is still fudged here😅

Yeah they should've built a 20-lane highway right through the cities on top of low income neighbourhoods... just like any American cities! Oh and don't forget to add one more lane using transit funds :D

I am addicted to your channel. Then I saw this and couldn't believe it. I too also owned this exact year and model Luxury Sedan (LS) 400. It was my dad's boss' car. Awesome air conditioner. The coolant reservoir is prone to cracking at the corners. I'm not sure how good aftermarket coolant reservoir s are these days or if they exist. 1974 Superbeetle and 2016 Corolla LE (CVT).

There are road construction fixes that can eliminate traffic signal failures and traffic signals altogether. They slow traffic down using people's inherent caution about irregular situations which reduces accidents and do not impede traffic flow, so congestion is less likely. The beauty part for drivers are no more red lights to wait through or run and a great savings on gas or in the future electricity. The answer is redesigning an intersection into a roundabout. Please if you are confusing this with a traffic circle, please Google and learn the difference. Also, if you are a city manager or road planner, check out the city of Carmel, IN and the improvements that occurred when they changed over to roundabouts instead of traffic light-controlled intersections. Wish my city would. The tourists would probably love getting to Disney World quickly and residents would probably love getting home from work sooner instead of the hours of traffic and fuel burned while stuck there idling, especially in the heat of summer with a broken a/c on sweltering hot asphalt. Instead, our city manager and road planner keep widening the road causing more potential for signal induced oscillations caused by longer signal arms and wind resistance. They have learned that horizontal lights are more aerodynamic than vertical, but this doesn't solve the congestion problem. Widening the road just acts as a temporary solution as the future holds further widening due to more construction of housing which brings more traffic.

The area doesn't change because you turn the shape sideways. However, it WOULD affect how much support the pole gives the light. If the pole runs "the short way" through the light, then you've got a long moment arm to the sides for the wind to try to bend the light around the pole compared to if the pole goes "the long way".

No trucks, no good. A roads first job is to provide a path for military and consumer goods. Also, function should take priority over form, if only on can be had. though I don't see why both can't be accomplished at the same time,

So much talk, when there is an easy and almost free solution of "it's only legal to turn right from the right-most lane" + " it is only legal to turn left or make a U-turn from the left-most lane" + " It is illegal to to turn onto an oncoming lane almost anywhere (only allowed on two-lane roads in non-crash-prone spans of road)". The way it's done in Europe.
