It's a pity the recording is not so well balanced. Guitar too much in front and bass a bit drown in the backgroung;thank you still;

Thank you Doug! It is great to access examples of Ed Bickert playing. And that is nice tenor playing! Perhaps you also like Hank Mobley? ;-) Very cool to have a trio and no drums by the way.

Man, those chords and that tone. And such perfect regard for the melody he’s playing. The alto playing here is beautiful and like Ed’s guitar, so attuned to the melody and mood. Thank you so much for sharing this beauty.

Nice to hear this with the Jazzguitar genius Ed Bicker with all these cords. As Paul Desmond said chorus after chorus. It was endless, and sounds so beautiful and close.

Ed is not “one of the great masters,” he is The Master. Light years ahead of everyone else. For all you guitar players, you should check out his playing on the Sackville recording with Frank Rosolino, Thinking About You. Brilliant comping and great solos.

Such a humble guy, but I guess most of the greats were(are). Once you've done more than a little work, I think it's impossible NOT to be humbled by the whole process. Thanks for sharing Doug!😁👍

Ed Bickert was one of the best musicians. I put him on the highest level alongside other now-departed geniuses like Holdswoth and Martino.
