Not sure where you are digging, I use to go digging 50 yrs ago near Parry Sound, my best find was an Excelsior Feeder from 1878-1885 which I still have. We also have several sizes of the Gin Case bottles. We even found bottles with Parry Sound bottling or something like that and a rare misspelling Perry Sound. Upside down inkwells. It was great until a beaver dam broke upstream and washed through the gully and took a lot into the river below. Everything is probably in the river below where it washed out still as not many people know about that spot.

Nice finds but you guys need to learn that there is no such thing as a " tooled" machine made bottle. You called the Berlin beer " Tooled" yet in the underwater shot , the Automatic Bottle Machine scar ( Ring ) is clearly visible ! Machine made bottles are not / cannot possibly be " Tooled " !
@WindyCityBassin
@WindyCityBassin 5 күн бұрын
Sorry but I have to disagree. The one called a Berlin beer was very clearly a tooled top bottle. That was definitely not a ABM “scar”. I’d rewatch that.

Another Northerner, nice to see! 😄😄 Lumber stamp hammers were to identify what company owned the logs when being sent down river to the saw mills! The mills would see the company stamps and credit that company for the lumber created from the log! Was an easy way to keep track of whos lumber was whos 😄

does anyone know why so many axe heads were left behind . Is it because the handle was broken and it took too long to insert a new handle ?

I think you found remains of a pain killer party: The Senate of the Dominion of Canada reported in 1886 that in certain remote locations in Canada, it appears that this drug was sometimes consumed instead of alcohol in social gatherings, called "Pain-Killer parties".
