How do i prepare my left hand to grab the paddle fast enough for a two hand during a volley? If i keep both end on all times then im jammed at my chest area. Do i just have my left up all the time?

Yes sir, totally agree. We are still working with vids from the backlog before we started getting that advice. Starting in 2 weeks I’m going to be doing a ton of demonstrations in video

@@JamesIgnatowich that’s awesome. I totally agree. This would be helpful as well. Thanks for the tips you said that was the most important here was that there are zero people in the top 25 doing it with one hand. Success leaves clues.

Why do we never hear of somebody adding their left hand to the paddle when hitting forehand dinks & drives?
@26realmc7 күн бұрын
Because it's far easier to impart topsin with your forehand compared to backhand. No advantage at all to be gained by adding your left hand to a forehand shot.

@@26realmc Thanks. So, the talking points about 2 hands having more power and control are really not as important as imparting topspin? That makes sense to me because topspin "allows" you to hit the ball harder, right?

James, bro, at least hit a few for the camera, man... c'mon!

You lost me, when your instructions imply your 2-handed bh has a LONGER REACH than the 1-handed.
@JamesIgnatowich12 күн бұрын
I would never imply that, it’s not true. But you can hit the ball harder while extending fully to your backhand side with two hands as opposed to 1 hand

All of your vids have the explanation but no demonstration. was weird to see some random guy hitting the ball while you explained it. you should demo the moves you're explaining

Your game and instructional videos and podcasts are getting better and becoming high quality. A pleasure to watch you explore your best practices pro play with different players. I also appreciate your humility when things don’t go so well and it helps to hear how your strategy and other players mesh or hit bumps in the road. You are the player to watch! Regards.

Just want to say thanks for thinking of the folks who don’t have a racquet sport background. It seems like everyone I play with used to play either tennis, squash, or badminton. I wish there were more tips like these for those of us not coming to pickleball from another racquet sport. Would love a video about getting power on the drives as well.

No pointing the ball with the left hand?
@JamesIgnatowich6 күн бұрын
Good question. You can if you want, but you don’t have to. It’s more necessary in tennis where the ball is in the air for longer
