CC is a good call too. We had tried this prior and split a little of the seal. The trim tool worked very well until I got too aggressive with it. The silicon oil seems to have fixed the sticking problem though. Glad to have that!

I have a 2005 Nissan frontier with an ARE cap. It has the man door in the back, so you lose the tailgate, and it is a little taller than a regular cap. It's amazing for camping, but there is no tailgate to cook on. Now I see they make a hydraulic kit to raise the height of regular canopies something like a foot while at a stop. I think that is the route I would go I the future. I do like your Yakima mounts and have wanted to add something like them for sometime. Did you install those yourself? I am terrified to punch holes in the canopy. Lastly, I would add I wanted the canopy to transport my 3 dogs, however, it sucked in so much dust I couldn't in good conscience take them down any long gravel or dusty roads. I would open it up and dusty air would just begin pouring out.
@CajunMile4 күн бұрын
That’s awesome that your cap is doing so well for you. We couldn’t do without it anymore. We had the rails installed from ARE, so it was prepped and ready to install the towers when we got it. We did install the towers ourselves, but that doesn’t require any drilling or anything like that.

Hi! I like that shower caddy. Does it suction to the wall and have some sort of foot so it doesn’t rub the shower seat finish? My current one suctions to the wall and rubs on the bottom and I am hunting for a better one. Thanks, ~Shanna
@CajunMile25 күн бұрын
It does suction to the wall. We had it in our home, and I mounted it just above the seat so it doesn’t rub. We purchased from Target a few years ago, so not sure if it’s still available. Hope this helps 🤞

This is so great! I have been looking for a pattern for this for a while and I'm so glad I kept looking. One quick question since you say you're a novice: Are you backstitching at the start and end of every pass? Maybe you are, and just didn't share it, but that can make a big difference on how long your stitching lasts! Either way, thanks so much for sharing - this is guaranteed to save me a lot of time! 💖👏🎉

Nice truck cap! How heavy are your bikes? That’s the only thing that concerns me about putting my bikes on tops heaving them up there. We currently have a fifth wheel so we don’t have that option anyway- but we are considering changing to a class A so we need to find another option for then bikes.

We love our International 23' FBT because it is sooo nice having a full bathroom instead of a split bath! Sometimes we leave the bathroom door open so we can see the view out of the window in the bathroom. The twin beds make the trailer seem longer even though it's only a 23'. It works for us and we are a family of 4 with a medium sized dog.

2 to 3 weeks per year and you are happy with the way it is held up? Wow, No offense but I bet Airstream loves customers like you. I have had a home and small camper and had considered the Basecamp X for my next purchase. Over the past couple years I have been reading all the reviews I can, hoping they would get better. They haven’t. Airstream at one time was known for their quality but from what I have read/seen that is in the rear view mirror, way back in the mirror. Airstream has a cult like following and they rely on that because it surely isn't for their quality. Considering the quality issues I have read about they are Way overpriced. On the other hand people can say, “we have an Airstream”. And there is nothing wrong with that. As they say, “whatever floats your boat”. Safe travels.
