Charlie Chaplin the paedophile Lita Grey began working for Charles Chaplin at his Hollywood studio when she was 12, doing bit parts in a couple of his movies. Three years later, at 15, she met him again and became pregnant by him by the time she was 16; they married in 1924 when she was still 16 and he was 35.

I was in our office today, and we were all talking about our favourite poems. I said that this was my favorite poem, and my coworkers asked me to read it. I started crying whilst I read it because it reminds me of the first time I cast eyes on my newborn daughter. I genuinely cannot get through this poem without becoming a blubbering wreck. I feel tremendously embarrassed by this.

This video is perfection. The poem of course. But her accent, beautiful pronunciation, pacing; she is perfection. The background music. All is perfection

WAIT!!! I love Browning, but I feel like there are a few striking similarities to John Wilbye's "Love Not Me for Comely Grace" here.

I remember not that God suffered in heaven. Only that he was sorely vexed and wished he had not created man. As in the flood. Yet as he came to be with his son on earth I remember the people suffered Christ greatly. I think if suffering shall end it shall be each man that must end suffering until it is no more

One day I wrote her name upon the strand, But came the waves and washed it away: Again I wrote it with a second hand, But came the tide, and made my pains his prey. "Vain man," said she, "that dost in vain assay, A mortal thing so to immortalize; For I myself shall like to this decay, And eke my name be wiped out likewise." "Not so," (quod I) "let baser things devise To die in dust, but you shall live by fame: My verse your vertues rare shall eternize, And in the heavens write your glorious name: Where whenas death shall all the world subdue, Our love shall live, and later life renew."
