The fictional world this skit is set in fascinates me. How do you make a device that is able to detect apes? Are apes common enough in what I presume to be America that every house needs one of these devices? Does the detector detect apes with such sensitivity that you know the ape is coming specifically to you and with enough advance warning that you have time to set up a big party for it and even bake a cake? Or did this guy just have this all set up just in case? Why is the arrival of the ape such a big occasion anyway? So many questions.
