In later episodes, you can see all the escaped prisoners randomly appearing in the background. In bojack's restaurent, the ghostwriter convention and more.

This scene is so emotionally satisfying and healing. I’ve been having a bad day and it got me in a better mood. I wholeheartedly agree with Herb. Not forgiving Bojack is a smart move. Regarding the topic of forgiveness, ppl w holier-than-thou mindsets always try to force others to forgive anyone who’s fucked them over no matter what, thinking forgiveness is mandatory smh. You’re NEVER obligated to forgive anyone! You’re NEVER entitled to forgiveness. Apologies don’t automatically exempt you from wrongdoing. Forgiveness is not a bad thing, don’t get me wrong. But not forgiving doesn’t make you evil and weak, let alone heartless. Either choice is totally acceptable. If someone is able to forgive anyone who’s wronged them, good for them. It should be up to the hurt person if they forgive or not. I’ve been around way too many idiots who keep forcing me to forgive my abusers and it’s so infuriating. Unsurprisingly these goody two shoes don’t even forgive themselves or are actually unrepentant jackasses. Some of them being in my family. Such hypocrisy. It always grinds my gears. Most apologies I’ve received since childhood were NEVER genuine. Ppl only apologize bc someone else (usually an authority figure who reprimanded them for hurting me) TOLD them to, they got caught, they selfishly want to get on my good side, and they want my sympathy. Of course, most of the time, the apologisers will reoffend, thinking just bc I’m so compassionate, I will automatically forgive them every time so they can treat me however way they want. Proving that they don’t regret hurting me. This is why I’m very selective with who I show compassion to. And I’m usually told I’m sweet funny enough. This is why I rarely forgive and even if the apology is genuine, I usually don’t forgive bc to me, the damage has been done. And even after someone gives genuine apologies, they can still reoffend without realizing it. Bc I rarely forgive, I don’t expect forgiveness after I apologize for hurting someone either. Again, you’re never entitled to forgiveness.

She was clean for 9 months, but lost the high tolerance for heroin that she once had, and she OD’d as a result. That unfortunately happens to a lot of people who relapse.

The reason Herb didn't forgive Bojack was because Bojack wasn't apologizing because he was sorry. He wasn't apologizing to put his friend at ease before his death He was only apologizing to make himself feel good and get closure

What I noticed (after the trillionth rewatch) is that in Bojack's room, there are Keith Haring-inspired paintings in the background. Keith Haring was openly gay during the 80's and advocated for safe sex through his art. He sadly died of AIDS in 1990. I like that by putting Haring-inspired artworks in Bojack's room, the viewer is informed / foreshadowed on Bojack's stance towards homosexuality.

Bojack is basically the same as Tony Soprano. They might fool you for a minute into thinking that they're good people tormented by the sins they've been forced to commit by their difficult pasts, but the truth is that they're fundamentally selfish, evil people who only really suffer because they've had it drilled into them by society that they're supposed to be better than they are.

I love how herb wasn’t exaggerating at all. After seeing the many lives Bojack has damaged and ruined, everything herb said made more and more sense. I consider herb one of the wisest characters on the show. forgiveness always implies that the person your forgiving will remain in your life in some shape or form. And we can clearly see why herb didn’t want that since he knew bojack wasn’t going to change.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy for herb and I know Bojack is the prime example on why being a comedian isn’t all fun and games and his betrayal gave herb a wake up call to not care about being famous anymore. but you can’t help but think of how far herb could’ve gone if he became a famous comedian, cause he’s really good at it.
