It was (it had a small production run in Helsinki) a legit production, just a non replica production, like the beautiful yet short lived Danish production (which had a more direct steampunk influence). Meaning it didn't have the same looking costumes, set pieces, or lighting. That's why G(a)Linda's bubble looks like a classic bubble chair in a bubble, Fiyero has tattoos, the Oz head is now an eye, why Elphaba is defying gravity with a wire rig and not a concealed lift, the melting scene is done with smoke and a linear strobing laser light and a bunch of other stuff.

@kristianliljegren76144 күн бұрын
Maybe that was the bad boy/heartthrob look in Finland, back then?

The second act dress in this production is very similar to the broadway standard.

I don't like Glinda's hair or outfits. She sort of looks trashy.

So Nessa's shoes were ruby from the beginning in this production? cool.
@georgechlada48689 жыл бұрын
I think the broadway production doesn't have ruby shoes is, because Warner Bros owns the rights to everything wizard of oz and the ruby shoes are one of the things they own. And Wicked is owned by Universal so it would be breaking laws if they did. But I think in denmark and finland the rules are different so they can use the ruby shoes.
@MadameChristie9 жыл бұрын
Actually, in the English productions, Elphaba turns the shoes ruby in the second act.
@georgechlada48689 жыл бұрын
oh really?! I've never noticed and I've probs seen it 6 times
@MadameChristie9 жыл бұрын
Yeah. The shoes are silver when Nessa gets them, but they started glowing ruby when Elphaba casts the spell to let her sister walk.
@KeepCalmContemplateYourChoices3 жыл бұрын
@@georgechlada4868 Actually the shoes were silver in the L.F.B. novel and they made them ruby in the 1939 film. Wicked is a lot closer to the WOO book than the 1939 movie.
