Some ppl are not at peace. That's the feeling I've gotten for 20+ years . Every time I go in there. Last time was to use the bathroom.

When I lived in the Chicago area I visited here several times to pray, meditate and have some moments of peace among the chapels and vestibules. The stained glass windows are fantastic as are some of the sculptures. The music put to the video doesn't describe the atmosphere of the mausoleum as I experienced it. It was more peaceful than this but I can say there was a strange smell... the building never got fresh air.

Been here before. It’s a beautiful Mausoleum! There’s a lot of Prohibition Mobsters here. My favorites “The Big Tuna” (Tony Accardo) & Paul “The Waiter” Ricca. It’s a great place to check out if you’re into History!!!💯👍🏽🇮🇹

We used to drive down Roosevelt Road from Oak Park at night when I was a kid and it was so scary with Queen of Heaven and Mt. Carmel on either side. Still it's a eerily beautiful building.

I hate the concept of mausoleums .. they seem to me to be for people who are too scared or too mean to give something back to the earth after they've raped it for 75 years. And worse, eventually the owners often spend the perpetual endowment fund - or their children do because they don't want a mausoleum for an inheritance. And then the repairs and maintenence cease, the place is condemned, and in come the ghouls who ransack the caskets for jewels and the skulls to sell on the black market. There's dozens of closed and abandoned mausoleums across the US as we speak! Dead bodies are not meant to go in walls of buildings ...

It's in Hillside. It's a shame that mausoleums have an odor...

Probably worse in the summer months if no air conditioning. I'm surprised to see no leakages from the crypts yet but someone maintains this place good.

I have some relatives there. It was beautifully made, but I felt like kind of a musty tight feeling in there. They could have chosen more better music 🎵. That music sounds so gloomy 😔

Wished it was brighter, but I know how mausoleums can be. I've always known it was a lovely place and I sure hope to see it someday
