Hi Cara! Is Quinn starting Kindergarten or PreK? I’m doing the same for my daughter and thought that it was based on age but if she can start Kindergarten before then I have to look into it.

Go Cubs Go! I can’t wait to take my kids to a cubs game when we visit back home soon. Do you ever bring the girls? I imagine it’s a bit chaotic lol. My parents also moved when I was 5 and I totally have memories when I was in my old house vs. new house. So fun! Omg the Olympic political ads here in Nevada are driving me nuts, there are some very inappropriate things being discussed that I do not want my kids to hear!!! Luckily I can mute it pretty quickly. But we have been loving watching the Olympics! Oh wow, Quinn is starting kindergarten?! Are you advancing her early? That’s so exciting! I don’t know anyone that homeschools so it’ll be fun to see that. Are you doing a co-op?
@CaraJaneКүн бұрын
Aww no we haven't taken the girls to a game but definitely will someday! I'm sure they'd love it for about half or less of the game lol. And yes, it's crazy what they put out there for the ads etc. when it's supposed to be a family thing to watch together! Or maybe it's not?? Idk... I thought it was! And yes, she's K4 age. So younger kindergarten. It can still be called pre-school too I think. And no, she's not starting early, but she does have an early birthday so because of where her birthday is she could either start now or next fall and she's definitely ready now :) This year I'm not doing a co-op, but maybe we will in the future!

Hi Cara! Go Cubbies! 😄🐻💙 We love a slow summer as well. It's the best thing about summer! I personally like wearing shoes, but it's not a priority for the kids. And I read Balanced and Barefoot recently and it solidifies the no shoe mantra. The opening ceremony was pretty weird. There were maybe two performances that were fine, but yeah. I didn't even finish it. 😅 What curriculum are you using for Quinn? I can't believe she's in Kindergarten! Wow time flies! My sister-in-law and I were just talking about how us moms get sick just as much our kids, when we barely got sick before kids. This was a fun vlog! Can't wait for the next one! 🥰 Have a great week! 💛

Aww I love the Olympics but it’s so disgusting and sad everything they did in the opening ceremony mocking Christianity with the Last Supper. I know it’s not the USA teams fault

Looks like y’all are having a great summer! The Blueberry pie was so cute! We do not watch the Olympics but haven’t escaped all the talk on social media about the anti-Christian stuff and it’s really disheartening. We took my youngest on his first Disney Cruise at age 5 and he has no recollection of it whatsoever, almost made me cry to hear him say that cause it was expensive! Lol. Loved seeing your family and Ace in this Vlog. ❤

@CaraJaneКүн бұрын
Hi! Aww congratulations! That's so exciting and I'm sure you'll love being a mom! I actually don't have a specific recipe for it but I'll try to type out the things I use for mine below :) Organic Ramen noodles 3 or 4 Chicken broth (about 2 regular size containers) Shredded carrots (3 full sz.) chopped celery (3 stalks) 1/2 onion chopped 4 garlic cloves minced 2 cooked and shredded chicken breasts 2 T. butter salt pepper ramen seasoning (I add til it tastes good. mabye 2 Tablespoons?) Heat butter in large pot. Cook all vegetables about 5 min. Add chicken broth. Bring to boil. Add ramen and cook according to pkg. Add chicken and spices. Cook 2 more minutes. (If you let it cook too long the noodles get soggy so I take it off the hot burner ASAP.) Hope that all made sense! :)

Hey Cara! I love that you have been prioritizing a slower summer without tons of plans. That's so nice and important! It's so cool that you went blueberry picking. Berry picking is definitely something we want to do, but we have just been so busy this summer. Where you live, do you not do 4K (preschool). Where we are, we do that first, and then kindergarten is for once you are five. 3K and 4K are not required where we live, though. So technically, we could have waited until next September for Leo to start school. We have a similar local restaurant that serves soup, salads, and sandwiches. We are actually going next week to celebrate my mom's birthdays! I'm so glad to hear that you guys are enjoying your summer and time together as a family! Also, btw, I also did not grow up watching the Olympics. My grandparents did, so I've seen some stuff, but nothing much. I hope all is good and well. All the best, Clarissa 😊❤️🥰
@CaraJaneКүн бұрын
Hello! Yes, we've been loving the slower summer! I hope you're able to fit in berry picking before the end of summer! And I think some people do consider K4 preschool also. It just depends what you go by. If we were sending her to school it would be called K4 or Junior Kindergarten. But that's interesting how it's called different things depending where you are! Oh fun... those little restaurants are so enjoyable. I hope you have a nice time for her bday! :)

It’s crazy to look back on having a child during the pandemic. It was such a lonely time and I had no family nearby. My daughter loved watching with me and growing along with Quinn ❤ sending you and your family so much love and gratitude. It’s nice to see a family that raises their kids like we do. Life is so precious and they grow so fast 😢 All the best and no pressure to post. Always a lovely surprise when you do 🤗

Hi Cara so good to see you back. I watch my 4 year old granddaughter alot. I set up stations for play time and we can’t move onto the next thing until it’s cleaned up. We have painting, play dough, building magnets tiles, swimming outside, reading and puzzles. That way at the end of the day when she goes home everything is cleaned up. I don’t know if that would be helpful but it works pretty well. Have a blessed summer with your family.

Hey you. I was just hoping all was well with all of you. When getting kids to pick up after themselves... its always good to break it up. Depending on the mess.. like tell them to pick up all the clothes. Then. Pick up all the stuffed animals. And then books. But because you work with them all the time.. if i were you... id tell them to pick certain colors of items . Like go pick up the red ones. The blue ones. You're doing a great job

Maybe a clean up video on KZfaq? It gives them 5 minutes to clean up as much as they can. And teach them to do it in sections. Toys, crafts, trash etc.
@Kristina-lr2qw10 күн бұрын
Hey Cara! I have a two and a three year old and I totally agree about the dilemma of having toddlers “clean up.” It’s so much more work on my part to have to oversee them doing it rather than just doing it myself but I know it’s good for them and I keep hearing that one day it will pay off! Same with cooking and cleaning! There is an incredible parenting podcast called Intentional Parents by John Mark Comer’s mom, dad, sister and brother in law. So much wisdom and scripture shared. It’s one of the only podcasts that I make time to listen to every episode because it’s just that good.
@CaraJane10 күн бұрын
I completely agree! The longer I’m a mom, the more I realize that it’s me who needs to learn the patience and model it for them in most cases. Especially when it comes to those things that I know are so good for them to do on their own, but are much easier for me to do myself haha! Thank you so much for sharing that! I haven’t heard of it, but I am totally interested! It sounds like something I could benefit from for sure !
@Kristina-lr2qw10 күн бұрын
@@CaraJane That’s such a good perspective that I often forget. This is as much about me and my spiritual formation as it is about them. That is actually one of the things that that podcast has helped me to see. The past episodes on motherhood by Diane and Elizabeth are pure gold. They were literally a lifeline to me 2 years ago when I was drowning with 2 under 2.

Hi Cara! When you only post when you have a sponsored video it makes it a smidge less authentic! Which I am sure you are busy!
@CaraJane10 күн бұрын
Hi Whitney! I’m so sorry it comes off less authentic. I do only share brands/companies that I think would be fun or beneficial to anyone watching! I love making KZfaq videos so much but you’re right… It is so hard to find the time to do it at this point in my life! When they are sponsored, it definitely gives me the motivation and more of a reason to use my time to film them since I feel like it is benefiting my family while I’m doing it. Now that I don’t want to share everything I’m doing with the girls to protect their privacy it’s harder to justify filming and editing videos when I feel like my time is already spaced thin throughout the week. Before, they were to capture our family memories more than anything! I hope that helps you see my point of view a little bit, because at the end of the day, I love creating the videos, which is why I started doing it before we had kids at all! ☺️

It was definitely eye-opening and convicting, in the best way. I actually listened to it on audible and I loved that John was the one narrating it. We also have that Louie Giglio devotional book for my oldest. We're doing a Simple Summer morning routine (like an intro into homeschooling) from the Brighter Day Press. Super cute! What sides do you have with your protein? That's a stressor for me, since my girls are so picky. 😅 What a fun summer you've been having! We were just up in northern Wisconsin over the 4th of July visitng family, and I've been down to Chicago a few times for a wedding, a birthday party and visiting family. 🤗 We also took the girls to the Shedd aquarium and they loved it! Loved thus video and can't wait for the next one! Have a great day! 💛
