Great setup, I do similar stuff with a number of bands. What lighting poles did you use on the subs? How high can they go?

What's your opinion on using a promoter? We're doing alright, averaging about 3 enquiries a week and have been approached by reputable promoter looking the standard 10%, is it worth it? We're a funk and soul band from the north of Ireland.

Hi Kris, I've never used a promoter but I guess if they get you gigs you wouldn't have gotten anyway then the 10% isn't bad. I'm sure there's good and bad ones!

Nice setup! Do you power all the band gear from the rack? Do you have anything in there for power conditioning, like a Furman or something?

Have a Furman in the rack which powers everything in it but the rest of the power comes directly from the wall sockets in the venue

The Bass player has his own before it gets to me and I don't think we need any for the keyboards. There's always a few in the van just incase!

Sorry for the delay...I'm not sure of the exact name but if you google 'M20 Threaded Mounting bracket' you should be able to find some...very handy!

To be fair to Fergal he is very upfront with me about everything and gives you the best chance to see what his company is all about. Dude loves to talk too lol. I have them booked in for our wedding and I am really looking forward to it. I got to see a performance at another wedding and was in hysterics laughing at some of the interactive parts. Its not just a show but they really get everyone involved and pumped for the night.

Do you ever get interference with the router in the rack?? We had our router in the rig but the wireless vocal mics started to cut out 🤷♂️

Hi Ciaran...I've never had any problems with interference so far. The router is wired to the mixer so there isn't really anything in the rack to interfere with it.

These podcasts are great Brian 👍🏻 I run an Irish Wedding Band in Italy, there is no "scene" here like in Ireland, even to find musicians was an uphill struggle as the songs are unknown here. The 35+ degree heat at an outdoor ceremony is a killer, literally sweat dripping onto your ukulele 😅

Hi Brian How did your band fund the equipment? I’m in a 7 piece party band with horns and we get a few weddings and private event gigs. Do you save money from each gig into a band account and just wait until you do enough gigs or does someone in the band own the equipment? Orrrr did you get a grant to fund stuff? I’d really like to upgrade our setup
