I wouldn’t be surprised if Nelson makes one with the Apocrypha. They did with the KJV and I think it would be well received with the RSV

I like the paper in this one. I’ve had mine for 3 years but never really used it. I do like center column references. Especially the Nasb2020 ultra thinline large print bible. You should do a video on adding guilding

This one was from the first printing which had some glue issues. However, those have been fixed in subsequent runs and these will last a good long while. I mended this one to what it should have been and it’s holding up great. I wouldn’t hesitate to get another.

I am really enjoying my new RSV Sovereign Collection Bible. One thing that I especially like is how the translation uses "thou," "thee," "thine," etc., when people are addressing the Deity directly. I think it adds a sense of reverence toward our Divine Creator.

I haven’t used the RSV much but I really like this way of addressing God, while keeping much of the other phrasing more contemporary.

I won’t be buying any Bibles produced in China! Why are we supporting a communist regime that is destroying Christianity in their own country? Shame on all Bibles producers using China! Recently I purchased a Cambridge Press NKJV Bible and it’s amazing, I also have bought A.A. Allan ESV & NASB95 Bibles and they’re amazing. These are all made in the UK 👍

Technically not. I consider 10-10.5 (depending on the typeface) to be the smallest ‘large print’ size and this is 9.

Well, Nelson has released a wide margin in all the versions in their Sovereign Collection. So hopefully there is a wide margin RSV in the works.

I still use the RSV a lot. I think most RSV users these days are Roman Catholic, and there are RSV-CE and RSV-2CE editions around, but not much for those that prefer a RSV with a Protestant canon.

Glory to Jesus Christ! I too am excited to have the RSV in a more affordable modern format. I did notice that it is typeset in the NRSV Comfort Print. I am not a huge fan of that font. I really wish they would have went with one with a more classic look. But I guess I understand their logic. Still a bit of disappointment for me personally.

It’s not a dealbreaker by any means. It says it in the back of the Bible under the heading A Note Regarding The Type. I took a screenshot of it so I could see it better.

I have copies printed by Collins, which I picked up at a thrift shop. One has the 1952 text, and the other has the 1971 text. They have the colour pictures but no drop caps. I'm not sure when they were printed. My copy of the reviewed edition arrived today. I am considering making it one of my "go to" Bibles.

Why would Nelson reprint the RSV? Personally, I wouldn't mind an ASV 1901. Since they had the copyright at one time. On second thought, maybe an RSV is a good idea. 😅. I love all bible translations.

I brought the NKJV Single Column in the Goatskin Brown and I swear amazon sold me a fake, it looks the same inside and the paper is correct but the cover seems like a dud (a fake). Its not supple or thick like everyone else's. It's thin, flat, stiff & shiney like pigskin. The cover feels plasticy. Theres little to no grain and the paint is shiney and rubbery. Even the paint on the cover is coming off as soon as I opened the box and it smells like chemicals and not leather. Even the pain is the wrong colour brown. I gently rub my finger nail on paint and it cracks and comes off so easily i can literally see the leather underneath. At this point I'm questioning if its even reaal leather. Also the price on the box says $209.99 when the price on everyone elses says $189.99. I have a NKJV end of verse premium Goatskin brown by Thomas Nelson and it is nothing like this trash cover I've recieved on the single column one. Do you thi k i got sold a fake?

My favorite reference Bible, besides the Thompson Chain, is the NIV Delux Single Column reference bible. Available in the premier collection and in leathersoft. The unique feature is that at the bottom of the page are topical links, working similar to the Thompson Chain. The references are in the outside margin at the top but the inner margins are generous enough that the text (9.5 comfort print) does not fall into the gutter.
@biblecornerreviews
@biblecornerreviews 3 ай бұрын
I’ve heard good things about that one. I don’t typically use the NIV so I only have the heritage, but I’d probably love the layout of the reference.
