I have no clue what you’re talking about. I collect knives and have many worth in the hundreds of dollars range. I have this knife and carry it everyday and use it very frequently!! I have no complaints about it. Sharpens well, functions well, locks securely and does what it should! Only cost $10.00 so it’s easily replaced if lost or damaged. I always use the thumbstud and have never cut myself or come close. But I flip balisongs, so I’m quite use to doing things with one hand and not getting cut.

Has this Mora 2000 been replaced by the Mora Kansbol? They sure look similar. Either way, great knife. One knife to rule the wilderness. The Gilgamesh of knives.

This is a stupid good EDC “beater”. Got it for $13. Say what you will but, it’s light, tough, keen edged, well built and solid lock. The finger choil puts it ahead of the Delica for me.

I recently learned that you can also use the drain holes in the sheath as an improvised fire bellows. You ought to pick up a mora kansbol, basically the same knife with a brushed finish and a 90° spine

I have both this Firebird and the Delica. While the Delica has better metal and action on its pivot, the Firebird is 85 percent as good at one-sixth of the price. I like its scale better as the proprietary Spydie scale is too aggressive. I sand papered the edge a bit as it’s too boxy and it felt ok after this treatment. Careful with the screws though, easy to strip. Thus said, buy a few to use in your house and cars. Btw, it’s 2024 and Delicas are prized at $98 in Amazon.

Cool review. I love the 2,000. I wear XL gloves and it’s perfect for my hands too. That handle is great. The Kansbol is another great Mora.

I bought the Salute Mini to take the place of my SOG Flare. The Flare deploys readily, even anxiously, but the size of the handle seems bulky and without any metal inner frame, feels extremely cheap. But the Salute is simply a two-handed knife to deploy and to close. But it is more balanced and a better size than the Flare. I also have the SRM 9201 and would rate it below both SOGs. It just feels cheap. It's easier to deploy than the Salute, but feels a bit lazy, requiring an excessive wrist flip to get the blade to lock. All of those have lived in a drawer since THE SECOND I got my 𝐆𝐚𝐧𝐳𝐨 𝐅𝐇-𝟑𝟏! It blows all of them cleanly out of the water for the same money and became my instant EDC. That's despite the somewhat difficult execution of the frame lock. It's just far enough out of the way that depressing it requires use of my thumb nail. But it's a much more solid knife, flips open positively and quickly, sharpens up easily and to almost a razors edge with its D2 blade, and cuts like a laser. I'll be purchasing another FH-31 in the coming days because it's just too good not to have a backup.

I don't even look at other fixed blades anymore, I just absolutely love Moras. My kansbol has been flawless outdoors and I use an Eldris daily at work, takes 20 minutes to get scalpel sharp! I was wondering the different between the 2000 and the kansbol and the most obvious thing seems to be the polished front scallop vs the machined finish on the kansbol. Very similar knives

Where do you live that D2 will rust, somewhere on the coast? Is their D2 hard to sharpen with a basic Arkansas stone? It rains a lot here in NY, so it's often humid. I wish it were 440C. I ordered the Ganzo clone of the Rat2 because it's 440C. Twenty bucks, no brainer. I might grab the F753M Ganzo, it's another 440C knife that weighs 2.5oz.

Fun tip. After the blade is open and locked into place. You can flip the safety switch back off til you don't see the red dot. It will keep the blade open, even if you disengage the liner lock. It won't move until you flick the switch back down.
