No, you can't. Without weapons given by humanity or found by him, the only chances he had were reduced to almost zero.Godzilla went into melee, almost killed Kong in 3 MINUTES. Godzilla was beaten the entire 2nd round, and the ax to the head got him up and almost killed Kong.

I'm gonna be totally honest; as a kid, this scene really made me both cringe and feel scared because of how random it is. I couldn't think straight for almost two days. Also, when Buddy evaporated, it really caught me off guard and left me feeling confused and uncomfortable at the same time.
