This statue brings the Star Trek universe into reality a little. Like when I watch the show, I can pretend I'm in starfleet. But I always have to wake up, switch off the holodeck, and look around me and realize where I really am. And it's not as interesting as Star Trek. I have a work at home job, so life is easy.But I'd rather be in Starfleet having dangerous adventures. instead, I have to lay in bed naked until I die on Earth and dissolve into the galaxy. But then God says, "Tough titties! I gave you 80 years of life for free, you don't have to do anything except want to reproduce (which is the most intense fun you can have), and you're free to reach any soaring heights in any direction you want. You're welcome. But now on top of that, you're all pissed off because you can't live forever? God DAMN you're a presumptuous bitch!" Oh well.

I was sitting with family and friends up against the back of EIS and it felt like the show was just for us! I was not familiar with the finale signature and I screamed upon the sight of mushroom clouds.😬🫣

I know I watched the livestream of the statue being unveiled during peak lockdown. One wish I made, is that a: I could go to see it as soon as possible. and b: that by chance Kate would be there. Bummed I won't get b, but happy to have been able to see it so soon upon. Thanks for posting this!
