In the ancient past, around the 70's there was this chevrolet van 80 LAFD ambulance which had a very odd hi-lo siren similar to those used in tv shows or movies like both the bear patrol siren from the simpsons and Phoenix siren from fireman sam, model PA-20 2B siren from federal signal It's been said that this was the only ambulance allowed to have this siren mode, as hi-lo is illegal in LA. I believe this ambulance is still around somewhere, owned privately
