Those are great tires. One pro tip, 265 wide tires are too wide for your particular wheels. Looking at your wheels, they appear to be 8J. For 265 width tire and best performance, you need min of 9.5J wheel. I know 265 50 20 tires and 8Jx20 wheels are OEM, and they are perfectly safe, but moving to 10Jx20 wheels will improve your handling and safety on the road tremendously. The look of the 265 50 20 tires on 10J wheels will be hot bomb sexy and sporty,
Yum. I got 32 powder days last season @ The Canyons.

How is the gas mileage with these tires? Did you see any change?
@peterlubczynskiАй бұрын
Gas mileage isn’t too bad. I really didn’t notice a change. Still can make it from Tahoe to San Diego on 3/4 a tank.

They can't get rid of that old chair soon enough. The motor, towers, etc all date back to the original Yan high-speed quad (of overly detachable chair fame) from the 90s, with the chairs having been replaced by Doppelmayrs (making it a Yoppelmayr).

Tires were $1,138, insurance was $300 & install/disposal was around $100 This was at Evans tire on Convoy in San Diego. I ordered the tires on the phone beforehand.

Beautiful road. It shows it’s currently closed both ways on google maps. Do you know if this is accurate?

Yes, it’s closed! In fact, I tried to take the road Saturday back from Palisades to South Lake, Google said it was ok but it was indeed closed at Emerald Bay & I had to go all the way around.

What an idiot. I've literally camped at the end of that beach and it is constantly monitored by cops, cameras, and road crews who are out there at 5am sweeping the sand every morning. To even drive on to the sand you have to get over large surrounding sand berms around the parking lots which are typically impossible. That guy was so wasted i'm sure he doesn't remember a thing

@@peterlubczynskia new method of border crossing?
@peterlubczynski3 ай бұрын
No, the method for border crossings on San Diego beaches is to show up in an overloaded panga boat then run like hell after hitting the beach. Cleanup is similar but the Feds make an appearance. Happens all the time.

How did they even get all the way out there in the sand without 4x4?
@cgschow19713 ай бұрын
It's not that hard. Lower tire pressure and wide footprint and float over sand. Front wheel drive helps, but rear wheel drive is doable. . Guess you never drove to Oceano Dunes. I had a 4wd, but never needed it there.

On my 4x4, there are no buttons or shifters because the 4x4 is active all the time. There is no way to make it 2wd like with other manufacturers.

@peterlubczynski4 ай бұрын
Mountain Run is an easy blue but it’s often very crowded with people in the afternoon or it could be icy in the morning. One of the steep sections in the middle you can avoid by taking a bypass called Lost Lake Loop on the map.
