@linemanundergroundworld4854Ай бұрын
Wazzup asan if you don’t think it is can you please explain how they do a cut and kick at the utility you work for , so maybe I can learn another way it’s done , thanks
@asan7521Ай бұрын
@linemanundergroundworld4854 sure. A cut and kick is when we utilize the existing pole to hold up the conductors and comm. At the base of the pole you mount a xarm about 1' off the ground to pole with 2 bolts and cut the pole under bolts, kick the pole over to one side and stand it on xarm like a peg leg. You'd have to travel up the comm and untie phases and secure to pole with guts so the pole can slide over. And tagline pole so it stays upright. Pull pole butt, dig, set new pole and transfer. We cut and kick poles if phases float too low or its a end of line deadend pole(energized). We call your method same hole set. Good job though I'd done the same thing on that pole. Good content.

@linemanundergroundworld48542 ай бұрын
Wazzup thereview , these transformers where used back in the day and not anymore unless they are still working, and these are the temp-transformers we us , because they are internally switched, not the the ones we use today with cutouts and why easy to use and operate, so C.P is short for ( circuit protection ) Internally that is … thanks for subscribing

Where I live before the utility was bought out they had several trailer mounted transformers for temporary use such as this or if a back yard can failed they would set one up at the start of the line and feed into the secondary. Cant have that now, tweakers would be trying to steal it and the copper conductor. Now everything gets de energized until repairs are made, if you are out 8..12...16 hours, too bad...
