The voice on this show gives desired detailed information on each item. The man is Alan Rudyk, an accomplished screen actor and voiceover actor in such movies as Moana, Wish, Big Hero Six and Frozen. I like that he narrated.

Wow there not appraising those wood statues for very much, there a hell of alot of time and perfection. That gives into carving beautiful pieces, that bear and her cubs, should have been at least 20 thousand, and that table with the dogs chasing the squirrels, is fantastic carving, it should also be at least 20 thousand,

What the appraiser said the box dint have any value , just a fun thing to have, well I beg to differ, that little beauty of a box is worth its weight in gold, it protects that beautiful jade ring, , and then why do they always say if ya have the box the value of the item goes up, !!!!!,

Thank you for your feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed the video. You're right, Fidel Castro is a controversial figure, and opinions about his leadership vary widely. Many view him as a dictator and a criminal due to his oppressive regime, while others see him as a revolutionary leader. It's important to acknowledge these perspectives when discussing historical figures. If you have any other thoughts or questions, feel free to share!

The usual mispronunciations abound in this episode. And a bonus: At 7:29 we hear of a Calvary sword. It most likely was not present at the crucifixion of Jesus Christ so maybe our redoubtable narrator meant to use the term cavalry, which is actually appropriate for describing an American Civil War sword.
@Antique_TreasureHunt
@Antique_TreasureHunt 10 күн бұрын
Thank you for pointing that out! Mispronunciations can definitely be distracting, and accuracy in terms like "cavalry" is important, especially in historical contexts. I'll ensure to address this in future narrations to improve the quality and accuracy of our content. I'm glad you're attentive to these details, and I appreciate your feedback. If there's anything else you'd like to share or discuss, please let me know!

Very poor appraisal, the pear shape diamond is worth about 18000,,, will the appraiser be making an offer. If she did I hope you told her what she could do with her money!!!!
@Antique_TreasureHunt
@Antique_TreasureHunt 10 күн бұрын
the appraisal you saw didn't match up with your expectations for the value of the pear-shaped diamond. Diamonds, especially those of unique cuts like pear shapes, can have significant variations in value based on factors like clarity, color, and carat weight. It's always good to get multiple appraisals if you feel the value provided is too low. Have you had other experiences with appraisals that were way off?

@Antique_TreasureHunt
@Antique_TreasureHunt 10 күн бұрын
Thank you for pointing that out. It is important to use the correct and respectful terminology. "First Nations" is indeed the preferred term for many Indigenous groups, especially in Canada, while "Native American" or specific tribal names are often used in the United States. Accuracy and respect are crucial when discussing cultural identities. If you have any more observations or questions, feel free to share!

Re: the French clock! When I was a University student, I worked in a museum for the summer, and I learned a bit about antique clocks and their origins. One way to confirm in which country an old clock was made was to look at the Roman Numeral for 4; if it was IV, it was probably made in the UK; if it was IIII, it was probably made in France, where the concern was artistic ... to balance in "Roman Numerals" the 4 with the 8 on the other side of the the VI! French clock designers were more interested in appearance than authenticity! As soon as I saw the "IIII" on the featured clock, I knew it was French in origin! No self-respecting English designer would use that configuration for "IV"!
@Antique_TreasureHunt
@Antique_TreasureHunt 16 күн бұрын
That's a fascinating insight! The use of "IIII" instead of "IV" on clocks is indeed an interesting design choice, and it's great that you were able to apply your museum knowledge to identify the clock's origin. The balance and symmetry in design were clearly important to French clockmakers, and this small detail can reveal a lot about the craftsmanship and cultural preferences of the time. Do you have any other interesting tidbits or stories from your time working at the museum?

The value of jade can vary widely based on factors such as quality, color, size, and craftsmanship. If you believe the appraisal was significantly off, it might be worth getting a second opinion from another expert. High-quality jade can indeed be incredibly valuable. Do you own any jade pieces, or is there a particular type of jade you find most fascinating?
