Just to add... That used to be a "secret" trail till the shuttle outfits started running. It's a shame how blown out it is now.
@lukechambers9517Ай бұрын
@@ryanprentice6921 crazy.. but makes sense that access to the area made the trail more popular. It sort of felt like as soon as we got off the shuttle that was the first obvious trail to hit. How long ago was it before they started shuttling people?

I've ridden them. They're mostly just float trails. But super super fun flow trails. Go to Pennsylvania or Northern New Jersey for super chunky tech trails.

Have you considered using Strava for tracking? I know AllTrails calculations can be off (so can Strava's), but Strava can give a better idea of actual distance and elevation gained. On my hikes, when All Trails says 5 miles, I usually end up with 5.8 or so.

Oh, beautiful hike and thanks for sharing.

Thanks Tony! I track it on my Garmin watch/strava and then also AllTrails. Ohh also my mini in reach. All three have separate mileage 😅 sort just have to work with what we got I guess and average it out. And agreed, such a cool hike. Hoping to do it again late season with less bugs! Lol

I absolutely love these trails, the only drawback, and I don’t know if you paid attention to it, these trails are absolutely infested with ticks! This was a place that every time I felt I rubbed anything on the trail I would have to do an immediate tick check, it became annoying after a while, my advice for anybody that’s going to ride these trails is to wear long tights and spray all over your lower leg area tick repellent.
@lukechambers9517 Жыл бұрын
Hey Wally, that is a great tip! Although I have never gotten a tick I think that is smart advice. If not for the ticks, long tights for the poison oak as well!
@wallyr.7854 Жыл бұрын
@@lukechambers9517 Absolutely, unfortunately Poison Oak is an invasive native plant throughout the western states in all regions lower than 4000 feet of elevation, especially along the coastal areas. Ticks, Poison Oak, Poison Ivy and Poison Sumac are the most common enemies of mountain bikers.
