Right now on DraftKings, it’s kind of nice to be in the middle for the most part! I’ve personally never loved the first spot because the team is so top heavy. I think over time as the ADPs shift, 4-6 will be the sweet spot for me. That said, we’ve been getting a ton of 10-12 this year!

We will see if teams are willing to do that at the NFL level. Travis is a dynamic player and should be considered a top 3 CB and top 3 WR heading into this next season. Focusing on one side of the ball similar to Derek Stingley Jr. could help Travis move closer to #1 overall pick in next year's draft.

Not against it based on how drafts are going! Whether or not Ja’Marr is WR1 is up for debate, but we just find it very difficult to start off a Best Ball draft going RB with the first pick. Maybe that could change as ADPs move around!

Nico vs Diggs is such a tough debate. We are against consensus on who is ranked higher but will have shares of both! What is crazy is how high Tank’s ADP has risen. If Fields starts, then he'll be great. It would be better if he had a deeper receiving corps. Aiyuk was rumored to be going there & while he'd be a great regular season addition, the Steelers aren't true contenders, & Aiyuk's best use is where Pickens succeeds best, mid-range in-breaking routes. What's _great_ about him is his hands & ability to make contested catches. He's amazing at moving off defenders without looking like he's touching them. Both Fields & Russ are more Really Accurate than Purdy, so I imagine this to be an amazing receiver to QB match no matter who starts. _If_ it happens. They have Zero Depth, even at LB. The games Watt missed in '22 showed they become mid without him. So even if the Steelers make the playoffs this year, what next? They'll have worse draft picks, Heyward & others are aging out, he & Pickens have already gotten upset at the franchise... I can't see them building up. What do they have to trade now for Aiyuk or any other receiver without depleting their roster depth elsewhere? Only future picks that they need. I half-feel as if they should blow it all up mid-season _unless_ they're 7-3 or better.

Pittsburgh is a fascinating team to think about for 2024. Mike Tomlin has never had a losing season and recently has overachieved in terms of expectation since they moved on from Big Ben. We are really bullish on their roster, but you are correct with a lack of depth. They did have one of our favorite draft classes as well that over time should help with that in future seasons. Still, the NFL did them no favors to end the season. All six division games AND PHI and KC to end the season? BRUTAL! In terms of fantasy football, Pickens has a clear path for volume and we may be a little low in our WR rankings on him. That said, Arthur Smith has a recent track record of being frustratingly inconsistent getting touches for his stars. Also, in terms of Best Ball, Justin Fields we are getting a ton of shares of as a QB3 late in drafts because he does provide a ton of upside in weeks that he plays. Very low risk, high reward in spite of the tough stretch to end the year!

@@GameTimeDiscussions. They play in Denver in Week Two. I have a feeling that Russ does not start that game. If there's _ANY_ chance_ he's not in top form then there's too much risk of giving fans the chance to cheer & boo him off the field. Smith seems perfectly fine of a creative OC for maybe these Steelers. It was when he had too many RBs to choose from that his creativity became its own sake. Before that it was Patterson 'til he got injured then Allgeier. Once he *could* stupidly ask himself the question "what are fantasy football fans _expecting_ me to do" he did then decided he was going to subvert those expectations he assumed for... reasons. The Steelers have One Receiving TE, one blocking one, one rookie WR, one who demands all the passes. I don't think he'll have enough to distract himself into making bad decisions.

Seattle may exceed expectations. the Packers are a mystery. Someone pointed out that Shane Waldron's rep was made when he wasn't The #1 Play-caller, Dave Canales was. Last year the entire offense under-performed. & while most people said "the o-line was injured" so was that of the Texans. That doesn't explain why the receivers weren't in synch with Geno. They & the Jags are two teams where this sudden decline in something So Basic, especially with receivers who did better last year coincides with new OCs. We haven't seen Love under pressure yet. So while all _other_ indications are on the upswing & I _do expect_ that most games he will continue to get better, this nags at the back of my mind. There are many otherwise QBs who do well except when pressured. I think the Chargers will have 1 or 2 surprise wins but overall, they have one rookie WR expected to do what? Play-calling can ruin a team. But there's only so much coaching can do with no roster. Who exactly are supposed to lose to the Chargers & how? Their D is better than they could ever have been under Staley sure & I can link a video proving that Kellen Moore's play-calling was terrible. There's just no receiving corps to work with. So even with better coaching like what the Panthers supposedly had at the end of last season, so what? Speaking of the Panthers, same question: who are they supposed to be able to beat? I can't think of a team that didn't upgrade as much as they did that weren't already way better than they were. I hope their coaches are All Patient because they may come last again. The Pats beat the Bills with a weaker roster last season. The Panthers won 2 games almost only be being less bad than those teams on those days. They're better than _they were_ last season. That ain't who they're gonna play _this_ season. As for the Lions, I suspect there's another reason they're not as strong as people think: their coaching staff Imposes Control. To a fault. This is why JAMO hasn't broken out yet, the OC Johnson is forever tweaking slightly new ways to make the mid-range passes to Amon-Ra & rushing. I don't even know who the DC is or what they do, I just notice that they stick to what doesn't work so well as if that's more important than winning.

I have a strange feeling that AI came up with this schedule. There are what, 4 teams this year with 3 games in 10 days? How did the NFLPA sign off on this? why are the players accepting it? It's nuts. none of those teams are gonna win those games (assuming they're not playing them against one of the others) & 4 games in 18 days isn't much better. What player thinks they can play 3 in 10 & be in shape? There Will Be Injuries.. I can't figure this out. They want more months of football. Stretch the season out? Naah. Let's injure players & make things *less* interesting instead. Isn't that what everyone loved about the Jets last season?

This year, there will be 10 teams to play three games in a 10 day stretch. Definitely rough! This was just an imperfect storm that came together with Christmas falling on a Wednesday. Don’t think that will be the new norm, but the NFL is definitely pushing 18 games sooner rather than later. My thoughts have always been adding an extra bye week once it was moved to 17 games, but that’s even more apparent if they go to 18. It makes sense for all parties in that instance. As much as it is a revenue business, there also needs to be an even balance for player safety/health, which you alluded to. We appreciate you joining the discussion!

Having the Packers at 9 is wild. Didn't they beat down Det in Det and KC without their best offensive weapons in Jones and Watson in the second half of the season? To me that plus their improvements makes them the best in the NFL without a doubt. Love qas the best QB in the NFL per PFF and QBR in the second half of last season. He's only going to get better. The reason for the massive improvement qas for multiple reasons: 1.) Matt LaFleur took the training wheels off and fully opened up the playbook and gave Love the option to call audibles any time. 2.) Aaron Jones and Watson the best offensive weapons got healthy late in the season. 3.) They had basically all rookie offensive weapons in the first half (RB, receiver, and TE) and it showed in the first half. After the bye week they stopped the high drop rate (3rd in NFL first half) and got on the same page as Love. They dominated KC and the Lions in the second half of the season and the refs needed to gift SF with 2 long TD's and take one TD off the board for GB and GB needed a missed FG in the fourth to lose by 3 points to SF in the playoffs. I think they were easily the best team in the NFL already last year. Upgrades: 1.) Joe Barry qas one of the worst DC's in the NFL last year (soft zone, prevent defense, no disguising the defense). In spite of this they were top 10 in ppg allowed due to elite pure talent. They added Jeff Haffley that calls more man press coverage than any DC in the league, has many exotic blitz packages and disguises his defense. He loves to attack and dictate what the offense does. GB qas 4th in the NFL in man to man press coverage per PFF last year and this scheme change to play more man press coverage and go from the 3-4 to 4-3 and a more aggressive system is exactly what they've needed for decades. 2.)SAFETY: Darnell Savage has been one of the worst S's over the last 3 seasons. He relinquished 2 long TD's vs SF and dropped a pick six (basically cost them the SB). Packers acquired the best FS in the NFL in McKinney and he's only 24 years old 3.) They had 1 major weakness on the OL in RG but their first rounder in Morgan is going to lock up and improve that spot. Their C qas average and the C Monk they got in the draft could upgrade that spot. The other safety spot qas held doqn by a mediocre backup player. Javon Bullard out of Georgia is the best S in the draft and is going to be the day one starter at this position and a monster upgrade over the trash they had there last season. 4.) RB: Jones qas hurt for 70% of the season last year. He did finish they year as one of the best RB's in the NFL but his age, 19 million bucks, injury concerns and inability to get short down yardage is the reason they acquired Jacobs a younger RB in his prime that can get that short down yardage and is hungry to be utilized in the passing game as the Faiders barely used him in that area. In 22 he qas the best RB in the NFL and also played through tough injuries last year on a trash offense so his numbers declined but I believe a better team and fresh legs should bring him back to being the best back in the NFL. Marshawn Lloyd is the best running back in the draft. He has absolutely insane acceleration/burst and elusiveness (#1 elusiveness rating per PFF). He led the NCAA in yards after contact meaning he has power to break tackles as well. Also at 5'8" 220 lbs he's a tiny bowling ball that the defense will have trouble seeing over the monster Oline. He's like a combination of MJD and Barry Sanders. 5.) CB: Technically they didn't do much to upgrade this group outside of the diamond in the rough in Kalen King. Kalen qas a consensus first round pick last year as he dominated at PSU in 22. However his last year qas very bad and had a mediocre combine so all the teams pretty much gave up on him. Packers love players that show one great season and then suck in their final season as teams tend to give up on these players and they fall into the Packers laps and it almost always works out for GB. So this is a potential first round talent in the 7th round. The other upgrades include just getting healthy. Jaire Alexander had many issues last year including a suspension, injuries, playing hurt and just not looking like an all pro first team that he's been the last 2 or 3 seasons. He qas great to end the season but for most of the season he qas either out or sucked due to playing hurt. Stokes another former first round pick like JA, qas basically injured all last year except 1 game or 2. He had a decent overall pff score in his rookie season but what caught my eye in his rookie season qas he had a 84 PFF grade in man coverage and GB is going to be in more man coverage than any team in the NFL next year. The other upgrades are the rookies in Valentine and Ballentine (7th rounder and UFDA) continuing to improve. Valentine qas 5th in the NFL in open percentage (the amount of time/yards receivers got open on him all season long). Ballentine locked up Justin Jefferson for a good portion of the vikes game as a UFDA rookie, and Nixon in his first full year as the starting slot/Nickle CB he had his ups and downs but ended the year on a high note and locked up CD Lamb and Debo Samuel in the slot in the playoffs. 6.) LB: They cut one of the worst LB's in Devondre Campbell. They're going to the 4-3 so they'll add one more standing up LB into the mix. Cooper is the best LB in the draft and he shoots out of a cannon and is in attack mode all the time. McDouffie should've been the starter last year over Campbell and qill finally get the chance to start this year in the Haffley system that he played in college. 7.) SPT's: They already have the best KR man in the NFL in Nixon (all pro last 2 seasons). Their kicking qas garbage last year. They brought in a neq long snapper, improved the blocking and a new holder and added in 2 kickers to compete with Carlson the second year kicker. So far in Camp Carlson has responded well and looks like a great kicker so far. 8.) Receiver: This improves mainly due to experience and not necessarily additions. A.) Christian looks better than ever and they finally fixed his hamstring issues with the new strength and conditioning coordinators staff. Christian at full health puts this team on another level as it's like having a prime Randy Moss on roids. There's simply nobody in the NFL that can cover him. His weakness has been health. B.) Bo Melton had an 88 PFF score (damn near all pro level) in a small sample size of 6 games at the end of the year. He came off the Seattle Seahawks practice squad as a rookie last year and made the team due to an injury and he turned this opportunity to demonstrated he's a great receiver and is looking great in OTA's already. C.) Dontayvion HIcks: He didn't get many balls in the first half but in the second half he took over in the second half as he qas #1 in the NFL in open percentage, #3 in yards after contact, #9 in yards after catch and had 16 yards per catch last season. His route running and burst is elite. PFF listed him as the breakout player of the year next season. Reed and Doubs round out the best receiver group in the NFL. So as you can see the Packers upgraded dramatically through the draft, free agency, injured players returning or young guns that didn't get too much playing time last year, but dominated at the end of the season and will be getting more opportunities this year for the entire season.

Sounds like a difference of opinion and that’s okay! We expect Chicago to have a very successful season this year. We wanted to emphasize how high we view them and based on their schedule, it’s hard to see them not hit the 10 win mark! NYJ is solely based on how Aaron can return from injury. Both these teams are really close and should be flirting with the Top 10 throughout the year! We’re right in the ball park with other notable power rankings post-draft: ESPN- 10th, NFL.com- 8th, Bleacher Report- 9th. We would like to see them continue to prove that final two month stretch wasn’t lightning in the bottle. Houston in our eyes won the offseason with the moves they made. They finished as a Top 4 team in the AFC and based on those moves, we have them third. But that is just for today! Kam does not view them as a shoe in bet to win the South like most do right now. @@GameTimeDiscussions. That's fine. You can say the Packers are lightning in a bottle and they need to prove it on such a small sample size. All I ask is the energy be kept the same for the Texans who really didn't prove anything last year besides the ability to narrowly beat bad teams and get absolutely stomped by good ones. It's wild to me that the Packers who beat the Chiefs, Lions, and Cowboys are still the team who's doubted, even after performing when it mattered, the playoffs. Meanwhile the Texans get demolished by the ravens twice! The Raven's fanbase is just as confused as I am because the Texans were lauded as this new age juggernaut and they couldn't put up more than 10 points in the playoffs!!!??? I guess the Bears/Jets rankings make sense if you're banking on injuries and hype to guide the way...real solid criteria... Anyhow keep up the good work, I'm enjoying the discussion.

You might be correct on that! 7-14 was so tough due to simply every team having some kind of flaw/hurdle they’ll have to overcome. Strictly comparing them to the NFC teams that they will likely be fighting with for a wild card spot (DAL, CHI, GB): DAL- LAR had a much better offseason. Think both teams are set up to have above average defenses, but on offense, we trust the HC, QB, and skill players much more with LAR. CHI- We are highly optimistic on how they will do this year, but couldn’t jump them all the way into the Top 6 in the NFC just yet. GB- This one might have been the closest. GB had a solid offseason, but we think they need to continue to show more this season so that we know their finish that year wasn’t lightning in the bottle, so to speak. Brady? You could & they did replace him with a high-school QB one year. Matt Cassels hadn't started a game in college & they went 11-5 with him. The only possible thing I can consider necessary about Brady in that system is that the Patriots would rub other teams' noses in that spy-gate continued by stealing their plays. The Philly special was tried by the Pats in the same S-B. They cheated & sometimes _lost_ despite that. But Brady had to know. So him going along _with_ that cheat knowingly was something a lot of other QBs wouldn't have done. It's the only part of their offense I can think of where he might not have been replaceable.

Bengals fan here. The Cardinals screwed up by taking Marvin Harrison over Malik Nabers. Nabers is WAY more explosive, faster, and led the FBS in yards after catch AND yards after contract. And it was t even close. Harrison was t even in the same ball park as neighbors on those advanced metrics. Nabers was also 2nd in FBS in yards. In the regular college season meaning 12 games Nabers had the most yards in FBS. He had about 340 more yards than Harrison did last year and the same amount of TDs. That pretty phenomenal considering another 1st round draft pick was playing opposite Nabers. I’m a monster LSU fan guys and Nabers is Jamar Chase 2.0. They are identical in size 6’ 200 lbs. Nabers is a better route runner than Chase was coming out but Chase was stronger and a touch more explosive. They both ran the same 40 basically. When WRs, RB’s, linemen basically everyone but QBs if they don’t test that makes me very nevervous. Especially WR, O line, D line. I will pass on people altogether if they don’t test. Like JC Latham. I think he is good but he didn’t test. And it wasn’t because of any injury. There are 3 reasons why guys don’t test. 1. They are hurt 2. They know they will do badly and it will hurt their draft stock 3. If you are going to be the first pick and the team has told you they are taking you first and they tell you not to test. Like 2020 Joe Burrow. He got measured but didn’t test. It’s not a big deal if a QB doesn’t test but in his case he was informed by the Bengals that he was going 1st off the board.

We appreciate the insight from a Bengals fan! In terms of the MHJ vs Nabers debate, we viewed both as Top 5 overall prospects in this draft class, but gave the nod to MHJ as number one. For the first three receivers, we viewed it as your favorite flavor because all were stylistically different. In 2011, AJ Green was viewed by most as the top receiver in the class. The Bengals selected him over Julio Jones. I don’t think that should be considered a mistake even knowing Julio ended up having the better career. CIN had a WR need and chose one that started his career with seven straight pro bowl nods. Atlanta moving up from 27 to 6 was widely considered an overpay by the public as well, but I think it worked out okay. Long story short, we anticipate both having good and productive careers! In terms of the combine, you are absolutely correct on why guys don’t test. In addition to teams telling him to not test, we know that Nabers and Odunze would have likely closed the gap. If the teams in position to draft you view you as the guy, there’s no reason to jeopardize that on your end. Thank you for joining the discussion!

Hi Guys. This is the first vid of yours I ever saw so pardon my rambling. If you're going to introduce coaching or play-calling as a reason to rate the Chargers this high, someone, likely someone annoyingly analytical is gonna ask why you don't do this consistently. I started watching the NFL in '22 & could see that what the Bears were doing on offense, "hand the ball off X3 then toss a slant, repeat" was way worse that Matt Canada's offense. If Joe Lombardi sucked as OC but things regressed even more with Kellen Moore then why not talk about what Moore did? See what I mean? But I'm not here to annoy for the sake of it or tell you My Way Izz Ryte. This is more of a long, rambling set up to recommend things exactly like this that you can do to grow your channel. Look |_into_ the coaching a little more. Not on these power rankings though. Just as something You Offer that no one else does. I'm not saying it'll be easy. No one knows wtf Tomlin does behind the scenes but he must have The Highest Variance of player love & hate. It's probably not a good sign that it seems time-based, the longer players stay on the team, the worse the hate gets. & Pickens has already displayed displeasure. We can't be sure that was all QB-related. If he's mentally out already, they are Going Nowhere. But Sean McVay Just Hired an assistant because he's self-aware enough to realize that yes, in the clutch he often can't think & call plays clearly. Here's the thing: that's the majority of coaches & play-callers. Reid is the only one that I _know_ keeps his cool in this. But Sean McDermott? Mike McCarthy? It might be best to shoot them with tranquilizer darts as soon as things get tense because their minds turn to absolute mush at any hint of pressure. We The Fans (& analysts) do a disservice thinking that HCs become imbued with everything it takes to be an HC upon assuming the title. It's a lot like how we seem to always revert to assuming 'politicians' are Government Himself or an extension thereof no matter how much corruption we see. Authority _figures_ are idolized way too much & so we fail to see their faults. But wouldn't you _want to see_ Josh Allen's efforts not get wasted by McDermott calling The Worst Defensive Plays at The Worst Times in close games just once? So, in one way you can't do this with everybody. But _sometimes_ you can & studying it (doesn't take as long as it seems) gives you a leg up on your competition sometimes. For instance if we go back & watch Fields' college tape, he has none of the problems he supposedly has now. How much therefore was caused by the bad play-calling? Because Caleb has the same skill set. The *exact same* skill set. So if play-calling remains the same, what happens? Anyhow I liked this one so I'll check out the rest of your vids. ; )

We appreciate you tuning in and your insight! As for your examples, we are pretty much on the same page with you! Coaching matters a ton and a lot of times is overlooked when breaking down various topics. In terms of the Chargers ranking, they were a tough team to place, largely because they dealt with several significant injuries, especially at quarterback with Herbert going down. Swapping Brandon Staley for Jim Harbaugh this offseason was such an improvement. During Staley’s tenure, the defense consistently ranked towards the bottom, despite Pro Bowl talent everywhere. That also doesn’t include the questionable coaching decisions he made with games on the line as well. Harbaugh has a good track record of making the most out of situations at Stanford, San Francisco, and most recently at Michigan. We are excited to see what he can do with the Chargers, but it might take a year for them to enter the top of the AFC conversation with the roster changes they underwent this offseason. They are a true wild card this year!

@@GameTimeDiscussions. I keep thinking that life just got herder for the Raiders who definitely succeeded at "if you can't fix everything, then get a couple of impact players." If Crosby & No One Else could impact games & help them win imagine how much better they are with Wilkins, the new C (JPJ) & another receiver who can get open even if he is a TE. But now Staley isn't around to watch games go in the toilet.

You are absolutely correct on that! I misspoke when I referred to no one going to three straight Super Bowls. What I meant to say: No team who has won back to back SBs has returned to the Super Bowl the following year (GB Lost WC, MIA Lost WC, PIT lost AFC CH, PIT missed playoffs, SF lost NFC CH, DAL lost NFC CH, DEN missed playoffs, NE lost DIV RD). Good catch on that!

NFC WEST QB RANKINGS: 1.) Stafford 2.) Purdy 3.) Murray 4.) Geno Murray is not better than Stafford or Purdy. Definitely not top 2 in that division.
@GameTimeDiscussions.
@GameTimeDiscussions. Ай бұрын
We are on board with Stafford remaining the Top QB in the division for now. The difference is Kyler vs Brock. Brock has impressed and nothing can be taken away with what he has accomplished through two years. But we can’t ignore the fact that he inherited what is quite literally a perfect situation that largely is able to stay in tact due to having a salary of less than $1m per season. Meanwhile, Kyler is a former #1 pick that inherited what was at the time the worst roster in football and Kliff Kingsbury, who many viewed as not worthy of being a NFL head coach. There’s a difference in pure talent versus situation. I am sure nearly every GM would rather have Purdy at his salary over Murray and his at this very moment. At the same time, when Purdy receives his $55m+ annual extension after this year (projected contract is somewhere around 5 yr/ $270-$290m) and loses Trent Williams, Deebo Samuel, and soon after CMC and George Kittle, we won’t have the same praise for him.

The Panthers last season ranked 4th for total defense, while the Patriots were 7th. The biggest reason the Panthers are ahead of the Patriots is due to how they handled the offseason. They added 4 skill players and secured both guard spots. The Patriots also tried to make improvements offensively, but they feel one year removed before they make an impact.

Packers have a wide variety of outcomes this season. That includes not making the playoffs at all. It is all predicated on Jordan Love’s play early in the season. @@GameTimeDiscussions. You said J love qas great over the last 5 weeks. Bro, he qas PFF's top QB in the second half of the year and top QBR also. It qas due to the following reasons: 1.) Matt LaFleur took the training wheels off and fully opened up the playbook and gave Love the option to call audibles any time. He had the best QBR and QB rating in a playoff game in NFL history in his first playoff game ever with the youngest playoff team ever. He's only going to get better. To think he's going to get worse is insane.
@biteme-rz3ws
@biteme-rz3ws Ай бұрын
@@GameTimeDiscussions. If Love is healthy this season they get the 1rst seed bro. heck their backup could at least get the 7th seed this season. Did you forget they absolutely dog walked KC and Det in the second half of the year without their best offensive weapons in Jones and Christian? Their youth is their strength as they have the highest upside meaning they only get better as the season progresses. They ended up as the best team in the NFL by the end of last year after looking average at best to start the season. So, since they improved dramatically in the offseason I see no possible qay (if they stay healthy) that they're not the best team in the NFL right noq. Nobody magically caught up to them in the offseason. One of the teams that could be a qild card is the Bears because they had the best defense in the second half of last season. They upgraded their receivers, RB's and OL. If Caleb becomes a upgrade over Fields they could make the postseason and make noise. The problem is I see Bust all over him.

@GameTimeDiscussions. 2 ай бұрын
Denver definitely will not have to trade up for Bo Nix in the actual draft, you are correct on that. This is about having the actual ability to move in front of a team like NE for their preferred QB4. If you prefer that to be McCarthy, that’s fine too! Detroit has reached or missed on many first rounders in recent drafts (Campbell, Gibbs, Williams, Okudah). With not many needs and cap space, we could see a scenario where they move the pick to try and put themselves over the top.
