Cambridge’s biggest pro IMO is that it’s completely walkable and you can walk into Boston and surrounding towns too. The biggest con, and this is coming from someone whose lived here for over a decade, is the unfriendliness. The cold standoffish culture, and the difficulty in making friends if you move here as an adult, can come as a real shock to people who are from friendlier places. Harvard permeates Cambridge with a competitive, get out of my way atmosphere that can really grate on you over time. As a longtime resident these two factors are what I would advise anyone of whose moving to Cambridge. If you’re moving as part of a doctoral program or school you will be fine. If you are moving and wanting to find friends and have a social scene, good luck to you!

I agree. I was born and raised in Cambridge but I live up on the north shore on Cape Ann now. I love the Huron village area and all of north/west Cambridge in general. Yes it's pretty sad what's happened to Harvard Square. It's no longer the bohemian enclave it once was with outdoor performances and colorful characters on every corner. Now it's starting to look more like Kendall with it's deserted streets and office buildings. BB it yes all in all Cambridge is a great place. Especially if you're a cyclist or a pedestrian!! 👍

If you want to be near cambridge look into nearby towns like medford, Arlington, or the Allston/Brighton area for more affordable apartments. If you prefer Cambridge the Port/wellington Harrington are the cheapest neighborhoods. As a rule of thumb be as far from the redline as possible for the most affordable apartments. You can find rentals near bus lines that will take you directly to school without breaking the bank living next to a T stop

I would like to encourage you to revise the meaning of the symbol ¢. That is not the same as $. $ stands for dollar. ¢ stands for cent. At 3:26 you said "at 14 dollars and 91 cents per kilowatt hour. The electricitylocal.com website states that: "The average residential electricity rate in Cambridge is 14.91¢/kWh" The numbers are the same, but the value is 100 times smaller than you are stating in your video. Therefore I have a reason to be doubtful of the statements that you present in the video. According to your video, the 150 kilowatt hours would cost over 2.2k $. Assuming that you have made a mistake and really were meant to say "zero dollars and almost 15 cents per kWh", then the price for 150 kWh would become more manageable at $22.37. For comparison, in Cambridge, England the same 150 kWh would cost £32.9, which is around $45.

You are correct. I misread my prompts for this portion of the video. The values here should be in ¢. Unfortunately I can't change this in the new YT studio beta so I'll leave your comment pinned. Thank you

@@livingincambridgemassachus7527 Thank you for the message. There is no need to leave the comment pinned. And that is because there is a better way to transfer the corrected information to the viewer: by making a caption in the video. Caption is most likely to be seen by anyone, while not everyone would visit the comments section. Does that makes sense? (for me it does)
