I’m new to tig welding. I’ve migd cars trucks heavy equipment for 20 some years. I have stick welded before I have never tig welded. I have a Hynade multi process machine STC520DP There is only one 5 pin connector. Is the tig torch wired in with the foot controller because my machine says it supports the pedal on the control panel, but I only have one 5 pin connector on the front of the machine. I purchased the foot control pedal from Hynade It has my welder number on it along with the 200 machine.

Hi Leo! Welcome to the wonderful world of Tig welding! For using the pedal with your welder, just unscrew the 5 pin connector for the torch and install the connector for the pedal and weld away. Some of the welders you need to hold the pedal down for 5 seconds so it recognizes the pedal. Most of the Hynade welders don’t though. Let me know if you need any help. 😊👍Don

@PranaTech 4 күн бұрын
Hi Mike! Well, they contacted me a few years ago because they saw my review of their welder and liked it. They wanted me to review some of their other welders and so I agreed and so that is how it started. All I do is an honest review and post the link purchase to the welder on their site. I get to keep the welder so you could say there was a benefit there for doing the review. They also have an affiliate program where if someone uses your discount code, they get 10% off their purchases and I get a 10% commission. This used to be decent program but over the last couple years they run constant sales of 15-20% off, so the affiliate program really has died as a result of this. I really have had amazing results with their welders. I just got home from welding all day with their Mig 250 Pro which I have used constantly for years in my welding business and have worn out 2 Mig guns and it is still going strong. Hope this answers your questions.👍😊Don

the oxygen and acetylene tanks may be considered the same for purposes of buying and selling empty tanks but they are certainly not the same inside acetylene has acetone and a porous mass inside the cylinder, oxygen tanks have no such stuff, hence you also can't fill an oxygen tank with acetylene or vice versa

Hi Larry! Yes, you are absolutely correct on all points! Acetylene is a low pressure tank and has much thinner steel so I generally stay away from them because most shops will only exchange a high pressure tank for another high pressure tank. At least that is the case here in Tucson. 😊👍

Hi Dan, thank you for the information! I have been Tig welding aluminum for more than 35 years and I can tell you that I see people posting things like this all the time and I’ve never put an amp meter on any welder I’ve ever owned. What I can tell you is that if you really want to know if it is a 200 amp Tig, try and weld 1/4” aluminum plate. A 200 amp Tig will just barely weld 1/4” aluminum plate without preheating. This welder welds 1/4” plate extremely well. I had a brand new 175 amp Lincoln square wave that could never weld 1/4” without preheating. This was a transformer machine and so it was fixed at 60HZ for the frequency. I had a 200 amp Alpha Tig and it was rated for 200 amps and could never weld 1/4” aluminum. These inverter Tig welders must work differently because they weld 1/4” with no problem at all. Anyway, just my experience from welding with many different Tig machines over the years. Cheers!😁👍Don

Hi there! All of the settings are for 5356 wire specifically. I do not recommend any other wire unless you are going to use the spool gun exclusively. 4043 is just too soft to feed through a standard mig gun, even with the graphite liner. You are very welcome! How will you regulate the pressures? The pump needs higher pressure than the input to the foam wand. The wand needs pressure reduced to about 55-60 psi or 380-413 kPa. You could eliminate one of the pressure regulators and just use the one on your compressor to adjust max pressure for the pump and then just use one regulator for the output of pressure to the foam wand. The pressure to the wand is fairly critical in adjusting foam consistency and getting the very dense, shaving cream like foam that is needed for Aircrete. Hope this helps my friend! Let me know if you have any questions as you get going. 👍😊Cheers!

Adding the regulators would give me a better control indeed, so every time i get the same ratio of air pressure into the system, but manually adjusting also works fine. just i need to find the optimal locations every time - i kinda know what is now the best beat and whizz of the two streams :D Foam looks Jummy and shavy! I weld up over 300 amps with this cooler and my Tig torch costs over $350 so I just want to protect my investment. I do believe you could easily run a small pump at low pressure and be perfectly fine. I do mobile Tig welding and this cooler is not very portable, so I have a garden hose setup to just run tap water through my cheap torch and the flow is plenty to keep that torch cool. 😊👍

Dang, i wish i had this five years ago when i built mine. There was next to nothing helpful on here, i ended up spending hours on forums, mostly just figuring out terminology and what things are called. I built mine on a trailer for blowing out irrigation systems every fall. Since i bought all the steel new, it cost me around $8k, but it was all a business write off. Used commercial ones around here are going for 12-18k, so i still saved and mine does a lot more than blow air! I made mine gas over electric. The power plant is a 12,000 watt generator and it powers a 240v motor that sits between two 12cfm compressor heads. It runs at operating rpm constantly though, the unloader just vents to the atmosphere when there's no demand. I'm probably going to change that soon. There's a 20 gallon tank for a buffer so the valve isn't cycling nonstop. I'm not sure what law in physics it is, but it increases my output psi considerably. It builds up to 140 and maintains 110+ constantly. Without the tank it was maintaining just under 100. I got a paint shop grade filter and separator for when it's needed, otherwise it's bypassed because water lines don't really seem to care if there's water in the air! The trailer can also run my mig welder and plasma cutter, along with any power tool i could need. I live on a cattle ranch and it's become an essential machine. That was the actual reason for the build, irrigation is just a side gig every fall and a way to write it off. I purposely choose the generator to be able to run my entire house with hvac. Haven't got that set up yet, but maybe I'm the next five years i will. I should make a video of it. Based off the stuff i like to watch, it seems there's a strong community here that would like it, and many of which are PhD blue collar professionals that will help me understand everything I've done wrong 😂. I really like your build a lot though. I've not seen any of your other videos, but I'll be checking them out. You do very nice work and unlike me, your welds don't look like bird shit! But your build is the perfect size, that'll handle anything it looks like. Very nice job.

Hello, sorry for the delay in responding. Thank you for your kind words about my videos. I really appreciate it.🙏 Tid welding aluminum is definitely a steep learning curve with all of the coordination needed to accomplish a good weld. I have been Tig welding for 37 years but honestly I’ve only been welding aluminum for about the last 5 years, so I understand your pain when trying to learn this type of welding. It takes a lot of concentration to remain steady and composed while Tig welding aluminum. I will say though that if you commit to it and practice regularly, you can become proficient at it fairly quickly. Now to the pulse MiG welding of aluminum. This was another whole new way of welding for me and I had to unlearn some techniques that I have been using for decades with steel mig welding. Like the 4T method of using the torch button. This took me a few days of constant practice to get used to. You will have an easier time learning because you are a beginner and can learn this fresh without years of ingrained habits to forget. I will be making some more videos with this welder soon because I’m going to be building a flatbed for a customer out of aluminum for his ranch truck and Tig welding the entire thing would take forever! Thank you for subscribing and I will try and incorporate some of your requests into my video of the truck bed build. 😊👍
