Great explanation. But, I saw some video, and it said 1kg de ouro mais 2kg de chifre. 1kg of gold and 2 kg of horn? What does it mean in that context? It was about mining.

Haha, "estou" in European Portugese sounds the same as "что" (pronounced "shto") in Russian, meaning "what"

A lot of those are inventions that aren't centuries old, and most are often originated from the united states... which is english speaking. Internet for example, is an American invention.

I have been studying Portuguese for almost 10 years and I’ve visited Brazil 18 times but I still can’t read or converse and I have to translate everything into English to understand. I practice every day with my girlfriend who only speaks Portuguese and we’ve been practicing for 6.5 years now but I still can’t understand her except for an occasional word which I have to translate in my head or with a translator. I have classes, read books, use apps and watch movies and KZfaq videos.

As a Bahian, I pronounce: Ônibus (equal to the others) S'cóla (I pronounce the "s" in isolation, that is, the "s" without a vowel, just letting out the air) Sh'quêru (Same as the Rio accent) Sh'quêru (Same as "isqueiro") Carni (In the Bahian accent, we don't put "s" at the end of nouns. To indicate plural, we just use as/os + word. For example: A carne; the meat. As carne; the meats)

Rio influência da língua portuguesa. São Paulo influência da língua italiana .

Rio é uma mistura do português de Portugal com os dialetos africanos. O S chiado é influência lusitana, já o chiado nas letras T e D, em "Tchia" e "Djia" é influência africana.

American English, Canadian French, and other colonial languages tend to also retain archaic parts of the languages. These dialects tend to streamline it too. US English eliminated archaic French spellings and streamlined the spelling. Brazilian Portuguese has eliminated Vos and tu from the language.
