I believe he died of a brain aneurysm.I saw an interview. He did not too long before he died and he had lost a lot of weight. He didn’t even look like himself.

I’ve told this story a few times already but I’ll share it again. My dad met John in Vegas. John was shooting Craps and my dad came up to him and said “I’m a big fan. I just wanted to say thanks for all of the laughs and keep up the good work.” John asked my dad if he wanted an autograph or a picture and my dad said “Oh nay nay.” John then gave my dad a hug.

I went high school with John. Malden Catholic. He was the most jovial , gentle and kindest person I’d ever met. He always Had us pissing our pants. I met him in Pennsylvania before he died. Sadly John left us too early. Rest in peace my dear friend
