As a proud Englishman I can say Adam jones is the best prop of his generation

The try against SA by far the best against one of the best teams in the world. At that level he still made them look very ordinary.

His try against France in the Millennium Stadium towards the end of his career was definitely top 3 (not on this list).

remember having a front row of him, Hibbard and Gethin Jenkins as the front row, with the under-rated Duncan Jones as an option at loose head as well. Those were the days you were not terrified each time Wales went into a scrum.

Fantastic player. World class scrummager and truly formidable in that tight-head position for Ospreys, Wales and the Lions. Shame how his time with Wales ended really. Warren Gatland is famous of course for having no sentiment with his players, and that's the fate that Jones suffered. Didn't like however how Jones responded to it. It felt to me - from his comments - that he was almost owed the 100 Welsh caps. No one is owed it. They need to be earned. Don't need to be a professional player to know that.

For me he's the joint top Welsh winger, along with Ieuan Evans in the modern era. Evans' tries carried a VERY average Welsh team for over a decade....

Love him, one of those players which made rugby magical. I remember seeing him get bashed and doing a sideways somersault from the double tackle, keeping the ball in play (tackle was on the touch line) and getting straight back up. Tough and scintillating.

Played scrumhalf like a pissed off flanker - agree with Dylan the dog, hard as nails. One of my favourite scrum halves in my time of watching rugby. Physical, quick to react, great hands, loved watching him around the break down, picked the right pass, excellent defence and lethal when running with the ball - made so many of the hard yards that forwards would have been proud of. A mate of mine once said Philips is like having an extra forward on the pitch at the same time as having an extra man in the back line. Never met an English supporter who liked him. Sign of a truly great Welsh player.

Great player! Fantastic young man too. And I’m sure he’s aware that Jonny Sexton isn’t the force that he once was. So when Joey gets back home, he’ll be the no 1 choice at 10 for Leinster. Ten or twelve thousand season ticket holders were deeply disappointed to see him go south for a few years. So the sooner he gets back home to Leinster, the better it will be for him, for Ireland and for Leinster Rugby.
