i have nothing against live feeding, but that fish was legitimately way too big for this. this entire video was just irresponsible. fish hobbyist, zoos, aquariums, all feed live fish at some point or another, but they at least try to do so humanely and responsibly. this, unfortunately, is nothing of the sort.
@piranhasworld5 сағат бұрын
Hi there, i really understand your feeling about this. Piranhas are specialized predators that require live prey in order to maintain their natural hunting instincts and behaviors. Without access to live prey, piranhas can become lethargic and lose their edge as hunters. They are active predators that inhabit the same waters as larger fish. Their sharp teeth are an evolutionary adaptation that allows them to efficiently hunt and consume big prey with groups. If you feeling that catfish way too big for them, i have another hundreds of them in a pond, there's no wasted food and live feeding are not in a daily diet. Sorry if this make you feeling that way, have a good day! ❤️

How often do they accidentally bite each other in these frenzies? Are there ever any “ friendly fire “ deaths as well?
@piranhasworld5 сағат бұрын
Hi there, based on my observations so far, they have never done any "friendly fire" as you mentioned. 😊
@scottf50723 сағат бұрын
@piranhasworld Thank you for the reply. In documentaries, I have seen where they sometimes do that. Just as do Vultures and Crocodiles (and I am sure others as well). I think that often means they are usually at the point of starvation, so it must mean you tend to your guys very well. Great job!

If the piranhas were babies and being eaten by the catfish … that would be ok though? They are simply eating their meal people. Don’t like? Move on!

I’ve never been sensitive about live feedings. I even encourage it. But this was wrong. If it was in the river I would’ve been able to escape and if it was to be eaten it would be by something that would finish it in one bite. This just doesn’t sit right.

Hi there i understand your feeling. Piranhas are not capable to gulping a fish in one bite as you've said, they are not having a wide mouth like oscars, or bass, and piranhas live as same water with a giant fishes as well. That is why they were evolving a sharp teeth during time and grouping to hunt down a big prey and feed to whole squad. The unique of this creatures makes me love them. Thanks for watching! Have a good day!
