Hahah. Where to begin. I am 77 years old, and watched baseball since 1951. I'm not going to make my comment as long as I could. It's not worth my time. If I had to pick the biggest "wrongs" it would be putting Mickey Mantle any lower than fourth is simply laughable. Bobby Bonds doesn't belong. Etc., etc.

I had an idea for my ultimate "dream arcade" of my own that only heaven can afford. It's a tall and wide building called "Pagoda of Games" (influenced off of the film Game of Death) where every floor feels like time-traveling back into the past decades. • The ground floor is a food court, indoor go-kart track, Evo-type Tournaments, and it has 2020s arcade machines such as Street Fighter 6 Type Arcade. • The 1st floor is a red room that has every arcade machine from the 2010s. • The 2nd floor is a silver room that has every arcade machine from the 2000s. • The 3rd floor is a blue room that has every arcade machine from the 1990s. • The 4th floor is a purple room that has every arcade machine from the 1980s. (Golden-Age games on the left side, Platinum-Age games on the right.) • The 5th floor is an orange room that has every arcade machine from the 1970s. • And the roof-top is green and is a mini-golf, batting range and sports center.

Tony Gwynn, Wade Boggs and Kirby Puckett were the best hitters in my youth

Ted Williams himself had his own list of 20 greatest hitters, which included Al Simmons, Harry Heilmann, Jimmy Foxx, Hank Greenberg, Johnny Mize, Mel Ott and Ralph Kiner. The list made by Ted Williams was based heavily on career slugging percentage along with career on-base percentage. Nowadays we refer to it with a single statistic, OPS.

Why would berry bonds admit to something he didn’t do? What you mean by “yet to do” when comparing ARod and barry!?

Willie mays should be on top 3 ahead of Musial who ever did this list needs to. Check negrol. League players like Josh gibson who hit more home runs than babe Ruth do your home work dumbass
@ron8830324 күн бұрын
Josh Gibson is credited with hitting 166 home runs. When, and if, he is credited with more (as opposed to hearsay) then we can talk. Musial has a better career batting average, on-base percentage, slugging percentage, OPS, and OPS+ than Mays. So he was a better hitter, even though Mays was a better over-all player. Maybe you should do a little homework yourself.

Joe DiMaggio (56 game HITTING streak)
@johnnysyak469610 ай бұрын
Dimaggio will never be overshadowded by "subtance" abusers, as their talents were a result of drugs, and Joltin' Joe's were not. The "56" games may never be broken, how can he NOT be included, and to boot, he was "robbed" 2 times of extra base hits by Cleveland Indian's 3rd baseman, Ken Keltner, to end that streak, so it surely was not a poor performance by Joe to not extend the streak, but the other thing, very over looked, and most likely even more amazing, is that he struck out only 5 times during this streak, PROBABLY overshadowed earlier ONLY by the "most difficult" man to strike out in the history of baseball, Joe Sewell who struck out only 117 times in over 7000 at bats, and, at least once went over 30 games in a row without striking out and NEVER struck out by some hall of famers, even Grover Cleveland Alexander included, as well as Walter "Freightrain" Johnson, in his career but this post is about Joe Dimaggio, not Joe Sewell. Nonetheless, how can a record of hitting that may never be broken and has not even EVER been approached less than 2 handfuls away, be overlooked as NOT a greater hitter than drug users?

Upon further research.. Players "WAR" thru the age of 36, for every 650 plate appearances : Ruth 10.41, Hornsby 8.84, Williams & Mays 8.79 Cobb 8.53 (probably better than Mays, because Cobb's WAR was including Speakers WAR 7.68 Mays had no such competitor Bonds before steroids 7.56 better than Joe Jackson (I was wrong before) If going by WAR thru the age of 36 for every 650 plate appearances, Here is the all time lineup ...... (1b) Gehrig(7.65) or Musial(7.46) (2b) Hornsby 8.84 (ss) Wagner 8.15 (3b): Schmidt 7.81 (LF) Williams 8.79 (CF) Cobb or Mays (RF) Ruth 10.41(C) Bench5.63

Ty Cobb has the highest lifetime batting average , so he is the best hitter of all time . Roberto Clemente was a better hitter than Mantle , Rose , Mays and Aaron . Clemente won 4 batting titles in the pitching era , the 1960s .
