Have one too - with start handle .... dunno which is better on a bad day. QUESTION: How long is the best length for a start rope - never seems enough to keep engine spinning an extra bit. Too long and you end up getting sucked in ! 😀
@BensWorkshop6 күн бұрын
Probably enough for two revolutions. It would have been better had I run it a couple of pulls with the decompresor on to make sure fuel was running and injector primed. Hope that helps. Many thanks for running, please like, share and if you like the channel, subscribe!

Had 4 of the Parkside type and now I have none as the Trigger Handles all snapped on them. Probably due to the quality of the plastic and/or design. I've been a bit heavy handed with them, this is mostly because the claps themselves don't have the same positive feel as the Irwins, so feel slightly 'Spongey' for want of a better word and so you are prone to over tighten them. I have two of the Irwins and they have been through a large amount of work and are still fine and you would injure you hand first before you over tightened or broke them. The Irwins are a far superior clamp.
@BensWorkshop8 күн бұрын
Well,, I do not disagree but if you work within the limitations of the Parkside ones they are cheaper. Many thanks for watching, please like, share and if you like the channel, subscribe!

Does anyone out there know where I can purchase spare parts (UK) for a Svea No 106 stove? In particular a NRV (non-return valve) and its associated cap it screws into before soldering back on to the dismantled pump tube.

Can such channel locks be used in a similar way you did with the screw when the spindle is seized but grabbing the spindle through some paper?
@BensWorkshop13 күн бұрын
Do you mean to grab the thread? If so, quite a bit of paper or some scrap leather, but yes. With stuck threads it can be better to work back and forth and with plenty of oil. Hope that helps. Many thanks for watching, please like, share and if you like the channel, subscribe!
@savedemperor802413 күн бұрын
@@BensWorkshop Yeah the part of the screw that's where the tip is, i think that there's a small amount of rust on the spindle and area where the lock nut is located, i tried to move the thimble with my hand but it only was slipping on the screw
@BensWorkshop13 күн бұрын
Be careful, work it back and forth, put lots on 3 in 1 on. If you have some scrap soft leather use that otherwise lots of paper. Good luck. Also don't squeeze too hard.

You've done 4 great videos, Ben. Many thanks - all were extremely helpful. I wonder could you tell me where I can get a new strimmer head - my own hit a tree and the eyelets and spring went for a flying journey into the long grass. The Komparnass website sells one for a similar model, designated PBK 4 A2. It looks nearly the same but a little different all the same. I can find no mention of spare parts for mine/your model PBK 4 B3 anywhere on the internet. Any help would be most gratefully received. Godfrey.

Is there any disadvantage to using the rotating blade as a strimmer for soft weeds?

What's with the weird 500nm extract but only 100nm tighten? Is there any way around that? Any modification could be performed?
@BensWorkshop2 ай бұрын
It is so you could not possibly over tighten. Not as far as I am aware. The battery one does up to 500 both ways so I prefer it. Also means I do not have to run a main lead out to the car which is where I mostly use it. Many thanks for watching. Please like, share and if you like the channel subscribe.

Your video has been really helpful but I need help with the actual wires of my Brook Gryphon motor. A1 is a unsheafed wire Z2 is a red wire. Z1 is a red wire A2 is the same as A1 unsheafed.
@BensWorkshop3 ай бұрын
Basically you have an A coil and a coil. You should see resistance on the A coil of between 3 and 10 ohms depending on the power output of the motor. You might not see any across the Z coil due to the capacitor. However you can check by opening up where the capacitor is checking continuity to one end of the Z coil you should then find the resistance between the other end of the capacitor and the other Z lead. Should be greater than the resistance of the A coil. Once you have confirmed this, put mains across the A coil, and jumper the Z coil across the A coil coil. To reverse the motor try swapping the z coils relationship to the A coil. When testing, wear gloves and plug the motor in via a switched outlet you can easily reach. Hope that helps.
