I use to landscape 11 years ago, I was required to get certified in pipe gluing before I could do any type of irrigation installs. Never heard such a thing up till that point until my boss showed me all of his certificates for irrigation design and install, and yes his certification for pipe gluing. Of course what he dealt with 8"+ diameter pvc pipe.

After you installed the pin, you turned the valve with pliers? Just curious, why? Does that affect water temperature after installation?

Nail plates are used for wiring too. They make the installer and inspectors feel good. You can push a drywall screw through them.

I kinda have he reverse problem with this. I have to use a wax ring. I've tried the new ones and they stick out too far in the toilet. Bowl is too high off the ground unless I race the floor around it or shimmed the toilet bowl up
@cameroncohen3351
@cameroncohen3351 6 күн бұрын
If possible, shim the toilet up with plastic/rubber toilet shims. If the toilet wobbles when bolted down tightly, then you may have to raise the floor/lower the flange. At that point (while doable at home) is safest with someone experienced at plumbing. Good luck

You also make the flange extension kit to bring it up above tile, it has multiple rings in one box, guys come on could have been a great promotion for the extension ring kit, free marketing advise from a plumber

You HAVE to use the CORRECT dry pack CONCRETE and Not Mortar mud deck (Very Important). I had to pull my whole shower pan out because the dry pack mud deck that I used was loose after 7 days drying.

Hi pardon my ignorance. I bought a few valves to replace them but none of the valves that i purchased were the right ones. I will list them here: Brasscraft 1.2 in. FIP Inlet 3/8 in. Comp Oulet Multi Turn Angle Valve, BrassCraft 3/8in. NOM FIP INLET 3/8 in OD COMP OUTLET Multi-Turn Angle Valve and BrassCraft NOM SWEAT INLET 3/8in OD COMP OUTLET Multi-Turn Angle Valve. The handy man said i got them wrong. Did I? What other valves could i have bought? Lol 😅

NO PRESLOPE IS NEEDED! If the subfloor is leveled you don’t need a preslope. Also, if the subfloor is not leveled, but you apply a liquid waterproof on top of the mud all the way to the sides of the drain, you don’t need a preslope (because it will then basically be a “sealed system”) and the rubber liner will simply serve as a backup. The logic is that the mud will be completely encased in the rubber liner, so there won’t be any voids where a puddle of water could form and the mud acts like a sponge by its nature, until and, if ever, it gets 100% saturated, in which case the water at the bottom will escape through the drain weep holes and any leftover water will evaporate and escape via the same way it got there. The water will evaporate whenever the shower isn’t being used.

you said no pre slope is needed if the sub floor is level? so what happens to the water once it goes thru the tile, grout, top mud bed ? this water is now resting on top of the liner and cannot make its way to the weep holes because the sub floor is level. yes i agree you dont need a pre slope , but thats only if your doing a completely different system , in this system you use a topical membrane that rests on top of the mud bed , but this would require a different drain. if you had to use a 3 piece drain and wanted to do a topical membrane, at least one should use the divot method, but using a 3 piece drain with a topical membrane is not an approved method
