Hello, my name is Richard from Germany. Can you recommend a good book on the issue of baroque percussion? How did they use all sorts of Drums, Tambouribes, Bells, etc. in instrumental music? Thanks a lot in Advance 😀

We have Aquila F-Reds which are Synthetic Strings designed to emulate a Gut String sound. I use D'addario Helicore Strings which are Steel Core Strings made to Sound like Gut as it's multiple strands of steel twisted together & wound in another metal.

As a clarinetist who has performed Mozart's Serenade no. 10 in B-flat "Gran Partita" on basset horn, I do not know how to feel about the basset horn being called the "cor anglais's kinky clarinet cousin."

guys, i think you all should get extra education on baroque instruments by now- so the reason why her cello doesn't have an end pin is because it's a baroque era cello her bow looks tight because it's a baroque bow why is it out of tune? in the baroque times they used different tuning frequencies (A = 415 instead of the usual A = 440) watch their channel for more information and stop whining about it here

That kind of early Baroque hold is also reminescent of that used for the Arabic rebab, the ancestor of modern European bow instruments, in which too the bow is held in such a way tension of the hair can be controlled by the player.

In order for one to see the notes by the fingering. This is baroque beckflote, however its size is by far huger than the common beckflote. I think this is the reason. Because, although the quality of sound is alright it is not as good as the littler beckflote. Of course this interpreter is a virtuose but one hears the doubling of the sound in the wood. This is because of size. It is quite interesting to understand that Minstrels (les menestrels) also had paedagogic music instruments. Among mates they might use the Recorder. But in contests before, for example, the knights or the notables, they might use the littler beckflotes of usual size.
