I make things that resemble ATCs but.... I don't over fuss on the size and l freely give them away to friends, family, and stray acquaintances. None of those people consider themselves artists and they don't create similar items we could trade. But i do get a lot from them in return... Just not art! :-)

Artist Trading Cards should always be traded (thus the name) and never sold!

LOvE Art Glitter glue too. Remind folks that they do need to use a good stainless steel pin in their glue applicators as cheap pins will rust. The one that comes with the 'kit' is great.

Does layer of silver point ground prevent other layers on top? Like other craft inks or paints? Like matte medium allows?

Nice explanation of the paper differences. Thank you! Is Kozo good for gel print or not? Early example was gel printed but later said not preferred. I may have misunderstood.

Wonderful! I've started following the lives lately after following Karen on IG for a while. I'm based in Sweden and can get the sketchpad rice paper. I understand Usugami is something different and I'd like to tear it. Is there any chance to purchase it in Sweden or do I need to buy it abroad? Thank you!

Did you ever do a video on gel printing with the Nori paste and watercolor? I can’t seem to find it?
@YasutomoArtOrigami10 күн бұрын
Hi! This video is all about gel printing with watercolor: kzfaq.info4f6WVALMMNU?si=jZ40stamkFEw24Vz We haven't had Karen use Nori Paste on a gel printing plate, but you could certainly use Nori Paste to mount your washi paper gel print to a backing board 😊 Hope this helps!

I'm confused as to what paper to use for the text block to be able to watercolor on the pages later. I tried Rice paper and Zinc paper, both too thin.
@YasutomoArtOrigami9 күн бұрын
Hi Sydney! If you want to watercolor in your tiny books, you can use medium-weight sulphite paper or very lightweight watercolor paper. We hope this helps!

what if you don't have a centimeter ruler?This video is awesome, I will be going back as soon as I make some jelly prints. woot woot I love the box's as well.
@YasutomoArtOrigamiАй бұрын
Hi! The conversion is to take the centimeter number and divide it by 2.54 to get the inches. For example, to find out the conversion of 15 cm to inches, you do 15 / 2.54 = 5.9, or about 6 inches. You can also Google the conversion (which is what I do on the fly!) Hope this helps 😊

I spent about 6 hours yesterday trying to make the tato box. I have "mastered" the folds but putting it all together has eluded me. It seems that I have too much "paper" when assembling the box - interior of box is puffed up paper and the bottom of the box is random flaps no matter where I push it. I'm thinking I may have missed a "fold" because my box sides are only 1 inch high. Any suggestions?
@YasutomoArtOrigamiАй бұрын
Hi there! The interior of the box does end up a little puffy with this design. The random flaps might just need to be tucked in a certain way when assembling. This video uses a slightly different fold, but they do a nice job showing the assembly portion very clearly. If you watch their assembly and how they arrange the excess paper, it might help with the final assembly! kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ic5gfKuLlbCng6c.html Hope this helps - good luck! 😊

Is this paper the strongest of the yasotumo washi papers?
@YasutomoArtOrigamiАй бұрын
Usugami is our thinnest paper so while it is strong for its weight of 14 gsm, it is not our strongest paper. That title would probably go to our Gasen paper (item number 6G) at 82 gsm or Torinoko paper (6T) at 80 gsm. We also highly recommend our Hosho paper (6H) which is 70 gsm. Its long fibers make it very durable for a number of techniques, including printing, encaustic and rubbing techniques. Hope this helps!
