(bei "Folklore" muss ich immer an seltsame Volkstänze denken) ☺ Interesting interview with a likeable director and competent questioner. Since Mr. Jóhansson doesn't want to give too much away, will better spoiler somewhere else. Only that much: The Lamb (2021) is a great movie with many references to Jewish/Christian and Nordic mythologies. ("folklore" always reminds me to strange folk dances) ☺

- Hurz-mäßig könnte man jetzt immer erwidern: Allllllles Symbole. Nein, alles langweilig.

She is a hero. I am just afraid her case made it difficult for other possible whistleblowers in GB to come out, because after such leaks their surely revise their structures and find some weak spots. I can imagine for example that they have limited since number of people who get such memo's whenever it is possible. If you think about this, she was not necessarily someone who needed to get Koza's memo in its entirety. But obviously it is hard to determine, which translator in GCHQ will have something relevant. But if 70-80% of addressees don't contribute to the subject and they could just as well ignore that memo, you could wonder whether it was properly addressed. Ofc I am glad she did get it at the end, but staying anonymous has also one advantage - agency might never find out how the leak happened, so they can't make it harder in the future.

I had my oral exam for the DALF C1 (French certificate), and I can honestly say I feel them. Being forced to express yourself in a language that’s not yours can be really frustrating because there are things you wanna say, but you just don’t know how. It’s like your brain can formulate deep thoughts as an adult would do, but you have the capacity of expression of a child 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️ I don’t know, but it doesn’t feel good at all

This is soo true!! I‘ve always had this feeling. I live in Geneva, a french speaking city, and my french is also C1 level, but still I always feel so young and immature when I speak french, and I never realized why... so thanks for this comment!:) Nevertheless, being able to speak other languages is wonderful as well as useful, as it opens up so many possibilities and opportunities. I wouldn’t give it up for the world.

@@marinamuller2385 Yeah, me neither. I'm so happy I get to learn about other people's cultures as well through a language. And it feels pretty great when you travel to be able to speak someone else's language. I also love that I can watch some movies and series in their original language, cuz there are so many lines that turn out differently when translated in Italian

Very interesting interview, I agree as a Brit myself that people focusing on the movie containing themes of Brexit are totally missing the point that it's just a backdrop for the world of the characters than any key aspect of the movie. I found it to be a really striking and accomplished thriller that reminded me of movies such as Panic Room, Hard Candy and Green Room, which is another movie I feel was inaccurately marketed as a horror on its release since it shares some of the stylized visual aesthetics more common to the horror genre. Eddie Marsan's performance also takes it to another level, a great little debut really look forward to seeing what this director comes up with next.
