When you are still in a signals zone and can't flip a switch on the dispatcher screen, you can manually flip it by highlighting it blue, then walking up to it and clicking on it. If it's a paired switch, make sure to either put it back or flip it's partner too. Otherwise, it'll show an error when Otto tries to flip it and go out of service. I've done that in the West Colton yard a couple of times.

Otto can't give mainline authority if you aren't on a track it controls because it has no idea where you are.

The update actually dropped today 6/18/24. The version dates don't necessarily match the day they come out.

Donner only sees around 12 trains a day, including both California Zephyrs. That holds true all the way to Oakland. Most of the freights run (at least btw Sacramento and Oakland) in the early morning hours, after the commuter service shuts down for the night.

Nice video man! I got my RD about 3 months ago and I´m very happy with my purchase. The only thing I noticed is that after I notch up by 1, Run8 instantly notches to position 2 or 3. I have calibrated this several times wihtout success. Not sure If this only happens to me but wondering If you and other people faces the same. Keep it up! New subscriber

run 8 just has too many controls to go through for me, versus Train Sim, i own the game, but i just wish it was a bit more simplified.

This is great! Before watching this, I had been thinking about how cool it would be if Run 8 had a picture-in-picture option. I want to play single player as the engineer and stay in the cab. But that's not possible when backing into an industry because you need to see how much track you have left. So you are essentially forced to play conductor and ride on the back. Or keep bouncing between the two. Your video gave me the idea to host my own session, open another game instance and join the session so now I have two screens going simultaneously. Left screen (iPad) I'm the conductor, main large screen I'm the engineer. Now I can stay in the cab, and also see the conductors view of the rear of the train!

My friends put me on Run8 back when R2 was about 1/3rd to 1/2way through its lifespan and ive gotten so many hours out of it, V3 i moved over to Florida and have gotten so many units placed out on there i forget what ive done and not done yet.

am i simple or something? I cant find the RJ Corman liveried loco. Is it in a train pack or perhaps labeled under a major line like CSX or NS?

I got a question when Iam working the hump yard like Barstol the cars in the yard have the industry tags on them but sometimes a train will come in the yard with BAR on all the cars. Is there a way to change that for the cars will have the industry tags on them.

Run8 needs a PR person. The Amtrak MP15 is located under the Amtrak cars.

The wheel shine is really bad and very distracting. I have not changed any visual settings since I started playing. However, the scenery is no longer loading in immediately but taking some time.

I think CTC in single player plays a bigger factor when you have more of the map opened up and you run AI passenger trains, you don't want to play chicken with those, so the signals will help in that regard.

Lives streams at 2 hours is good so that people have time to catch you and chat, but uploaded videos would be better at 30 minutes or less if possible, plus you can push more of them out by keeping them short.

And the rails are dirty. They got the wheels shiny. Lol!
