The white, feathery tufts of the dandelion pericarp fruit are known as pappi. The pappus develops from the flower and acts as a fluffy parachute that is easily dispersed by wind over long distances.

How do you clean out your measuring cups after pouring the resin in the mold. I tried to clean mine out with soap and water and it left me with sticky measuring cups and sticky hands. It was a mess! I had to throw my measuring cup away because nothing I tried worked!

Metallics and iridescents are always going to be thicker because they have flecks of "not paint" in them ... glitter or actual metal. Thus, that paint is always going to be heavier and require more medium to get it to the correct consistency. With these, less is more. (less paint and more medium). White paint is heavy because the molecules that make white (especially Titanium) are heavy and large. The molecules are larger, so they don't go into solution as easily as other colors. White will always take more medium or water to dilute to the correct consistency. But beware. Start with medium twice as much as you think you'll need. Add white half as much as you think you'll need. Adjust to consistency and I'll bet you'll end up with more white than you need. Experiment because white, depending on the white you're using, is so much heavier and needs to be mixed differently in every case, no matter the brand. White is one of the most difficult colors to get "right" in pouring. Honestly, there are many more factors that affect paints. Heat (on the second floor will be different than on the fist floor no matter what), pressure, humidity ... Unless you have a completely controlled environment (and you can't account for pressure), you're going to have to check your mix EVERY TIME. It's just how it is.

Not to sound old, but... what is the purpose of using biodegradable glitter in a chunk of resin that is not? It's marketing, I guess? Buzz words... to make people think they care more than they really do because in all honesty most mom's that are crafting for a creative release dont have time to ponder the overall probably (not sure, I've never researched it, because I'm one of those moms) very miniscule effect in the overall picture of our environment and the state of our planet... So, I am just curious, because it's mentioned like its ground breaking and makes the product worth double or triple what something like Walmart glitter costs... actually, sometimes even 10x as much... for what? It has to all be marketing, but if anyone would be so inclined to skool me, I'm more than receptive to the information!

Well, it means if it goes down your drain, it will break down in nature and not build up and stay forever like plastic glitter. I also check my biodegradable to make sure they are solvent resistant and will stand up to being incorporated into resin. And you’re right, kind of like organic food, it is more expensive. I have actually stopped selling it because plastic (cheaper) sells way better! I will say all of my glitters are cosmetic grade and safe for hair skin and nails and great to use with kids for that reason. Just don’t let them eat it or anything, obviously

Okay... first of all, I LOVE this! It reminds me of something my granma could of had when I was growing up over 30 years ago... think milk glass deviled egg serving dish with a gold rim... it inspires me to want to use the large tray mold I purchased years ago, because who doesn't need a homemade tray as a house warming gift? I bought it for that and never got around to making it. I digress.
