Such a great help. Thank you! I was going mad trying to fit the hose on an air conditioner. It’s now all up and running.

Finally someone posted where those 2 "C" gaskets go! One question: Does it matter wheather the adheasive side is up or down??
@TalesFromTheTinkerage
@TalesFromTheTinkerage 2 ай бұрын
I don't think it matters but I have found putting them in as shown works well. It also matches what I found the first time I opened our Dyson.

I have the same dewalt. Similar issues. Mainly the chuck went on mine. I love Bosch but a bit out of my price range at the moment. I’m looking at perhaps Ryobi.

I bought a length of plastic pipe and cut it into bits to form a Zed Z shape, then used that to vent it outside through the hole in the wall. It's the same diameter as the machine hole, so pushed straight in. No more plastic corrugated dust collecting flexible pipe!

Been thinking of getting a small sander like this for sharpening hand tools and small wood item sanding. Do you recommend this make and model? Also is it built well and is good quality?
@TalesFromTheTinkerage
@TalesFromTheTinkerage 10 ай бұрын
For small wood item sanding it is absolutely perfect in my opinion. Pretty much all the ones that look like this are made in the same factory with just a few slight differences like styles of knobs, colour and shape of the tables. There's only a small variation in price so just look out for one that suits your pocket and perhaps colour, if that's important to you. I have sharpened with it but I now have a Sorby Pro-edge which is in a different league for that. With the Sealey you would need to make jigs to get consistent angles but it will work. It's a fraction of the price of the Sorby. I hope that helps. Reach out if you have further questions.

@@TalesFromTheTinkerageThanks for your detailed reply and it sounds like this would come in handy as I have a gardening business and keen on DIY so sharpening small hand tools and small woodworking is my thing. Would you say this is better quality than the other makes in a similar league? Where do you get the spare sanding discs and belts from? How do you install them?
@TalesFromTheTinkerage
@TalesFromTheTinkerage 10 ай бұрын
I've seen a few versions in friends' workshops and they really are much of a muchness. I bought this one because it was the cheapest I could find as I only had a limited budget when I bought it. Belts and discs are easy to find. Most places that sell abrasives will sell them. TBH I use Amazon as I have a Prime account and they'll normally come next day. I've not changed the disc yet, I mostly use the belt, and I think it's adhesive iirc rather than velcro as on a random orbital sander. To change teh belt you take the side off and release the tension. It's screws rather than knobs but it's only a 2 minute job. I've seen one guy who leaves the side off as he changes belts regularly for rough sharpening chisels, it's doable but sketchy. For something like lawn mower blades it would be excellent. Secatuers might be trickier unless they come apart but that's the same for most sharpening systems for them, in my experience. @@mattseymour8637

Don't need to go through all that Octopus screwdriver Hoopla on that HEPA filter cover.. Just pop the front lock up then work the side locks one at a time from under the cover lifting while your prying the cover away.

Thank you. That's why I'm watching KZfaq videos at 2:15 a.m. I have always cleaned my vacuums. My house is 4100sf, and 2 story. I bought the Dyson DC14 at a pawn shop and had it serviced. The man said it was in good shape, but it would soon need a new filter. I didn't realize it had a "Lifetime" HEPA filter until I was looking where to order one. I received everything in this video. When my husband got to the HEPA filter, he was afraid of breaking the little plastic things. Now I can show him how to do it carefully. I'm hoping to find a video that shows how to clean the entire vacuum. I got the bottom cover that covers the roller, but were having a hell of a time getting the roller out because of the belt. It really needs to be cleaned as well. I'll keep looking. The more I learn, the better I'll know how to take care of it. After I first had it cleaned and serviced, it took me 2 years to find the filters. Now Amazon has them all over the place. Thank you for your video.

If you like tinkering and have the Model A version of this calculator, you can change the software by altering the jumpers inside, including upgrading it to the Casio fx-991 ES. Casio realised the consequences of this so removed this ability on the B model.

A great little saw. Specs and appearance change from time to time when on sale and country to country. I did change the band from 6 x 6tpi to 8 x 14tpi, it gave a cleaner cut. The motor is a little under powered, 250w in my case, so don't push it. One big complaint was the upper bearing at the back of the band was under sized, no way would it support the band, so I fitted a larger one. No big deal for me but average Joe may not know. My 2c worth.

@@neilbuchan1489 That's really odd. All the ones I've seen have the wire in the same arrangement as the threads on a screw. I'm all short of suggestions I'm afraid. Other than maybe picking up one from Toolstation/Screwfix to compare, knowing that you can take it back if it doesn't solve things.

I have been researching about these vents a bit. Apparently it's best to use metal for longevity and safety against fire
@TalesFromTheTinkerage
@TalesFromTheTinkerage 2 жыл бұрын
I agree that metal would be better on both counts. And in some settings it is a requirement. The PVC hoses are very common in UK households. They are cheap to replace and shouldn't be at risk of fire.
