This is very very impressive, you are inclined to grain work. I can't wait to track your progress as you aquire higher end wood working specific tools. You are going to create some wonderful pieces.

Thank you! I was wondering where to start as I’m making one for my girlfriend for her birthday. I appreciate it. Also what measurements did you use for the inside and outside diameter wise

Oh, I actually forgot, I guess you can try a few out on paper cutouts first to get the right measurements

Wow, thank you so much! I don't have access to green wood so I'm always looking for new ways to make spoons from dry wood, and ladles seemed very difficult to me. This (while still difficult and terribly hard to perfect as you have done) is a great video for making ladles, so thanks!

The maxi was a bit too short in one direction so we made it longer! We also added a plane stop and a few other details that make it easier to work with long stock!

17 15 yoyo, this is a 3 part series! Do watch the the first part its explained what we’re doing here. This is a chipped plane from our workshop that we’re using for the demonstration on how you can polish up your plane blade. Not sure where you’re from but its the COVID 19 period pretty much everywhere and here in Singapore all businesses are closed including our workshop. This video is shot from home and this is the only plane I have right now. This isn’t a video series about how to remove chips on a blade, its about how you can improve plane performance with a few pieces of sandpaper.

When you pare the other side of the rabbet, would you go across the grain or go with the grain toward the inside of the cut?
@tombalek3754
@tombalek3754 4 жыл бұрын
Ryan Bruce it depends on three things, firstly the orientation, which is purely ergonomic. Secondly its the ease of cut, across the grain is easier and along the grain needs more pressure. Thirdly, surface finish, along the grain is usually smoother, across is rougher. But if you have twisted grain, across might give you a more predictable finish, paring along will most likely cause tear out. Hope that made some sense.
