I love my SHL5 40th sooo much. But, I started really falling in love with them after installing a separate hifi-power group. Then they really starts to sing and come alive. They are able to give such much joy, it depents on the quality. I changed my Chord Qutest in a Holo Spring 3 KTE. And the Harbeth's....they grow so much richer. If you are not satisfied with the Harbeth....its not the Harbeth that dissapoints you... Ik know now.. And this video shows!

Acme speakers and amplifier !

I am restoring a pair of these beautiful speakers. The pair I purchased are missing the right woofer and tweeter. The y sat unsold for 3 years. Unfortunately replacement bass drivers are not available. I was able to test the one that had driver in mono against a friend of mines new high end speakers and we both agreed that these SFs were voiced very good, especially for being 26 years old and abused. I am going to probably change the tweeter with Audax “golds” 1” aluminum tweeters and either Elon symphony drivers or an Audax. The problem is that you have to truncate them, which is NOT going to be fun. I hope Franco Serblin will approve from heaven. I also own the entire collection of the Home Series: Grand Piano, Concerto, Concertino, and the Solo (opps, no Walls).

Thiel CS5i is very difficult to drive, what amp are you using ? I own CS 3.7 with Vitus amp.

I also use Vitus amp with my Thiel CS 3.7s, great combo. SM-103 must sound fantastic on Thiel speakers.

I had the 900u with MB2SE it was a great combo
